I am reduced to Sainsburys and Morrison with the occasional M&S and FineCheese Company delivery, i never visit them Kraut stores, their meat is shite and they rip off other brands copying the product and packaging and somehow seem to get away with it. Their wine is also invariably fukin awful, they are a disease in the supermarket world that screw British Farmers and tell us they are supporting them - Kraut cvnts.

Anyway, those NZ has beens are on Glasto on TV playing their only hit, i gave up festivals years ago once they became a commercial, packed nightmare but i'd take the IOW over Glasto any day now.

and convinced yourself that you had one too many and that is why you were shitting through the eye of a needle when you go up. They are notorious for selling shit meat and keeping poor temp control so that 30 or 75 % off is just shot they get away with not destroying,

I can afford AC in my own home. I don't need to visit Aldi to enjoy AC on a hot day.

Funny you should mention this as I was asking about an old friend recently and I was told he had gone into the A/C business.

Seeing my raised eyebrows, my interlocutor replied that he had been doing quite well for about 6 months, sold a few down south, but that he had gone bankrupt after about a year.

Global warming hasn't got that bad yet.

I don't know about how energy efficient they are compared to other heating methods but obviously there's reverse-cycle aircons that can cool and heat. Handy when you're in countries where temperatures swing between 45c and 0c through the seasons..

That's what I had in my place in Spain, worked well. It was up in the mountains and could drop to freezing during the peak winter months.

I swear that every time I return home after a prolonged period at work I am confronted with a list of jobs to do and appliances that have packed up and need replacing. A cynical person would almost think it was planned. While I was away this time the rice cooker packed up (oh dear, what a pity, never mind) and we had some cretin move and clean a couple of aircon units. The less said the better.

Last night I was cooking tea and discovered that the microwave had stopped working. The light packed up a couple of years ago but now the turntable goes round and round and it makes all the right noises but the food remains stone cold.

Tonight all I wanted to do was make a meal of re-heated, left-over shepherd's pie with some veg. The pie went into he convection oven but what to do with the veg? How to cook the beans and sweetcorn?

I resorted to the gardener's microwave. Once seen, cannot be unseen.

    Not a bad result mind...

    Money...

Peas and sweetcorn: Wrap in tinfoil with a knob of butter and some salt then place in said convection oven, beans: place in baking dish with some butter and herbs?
