Some trivia for you Vulcan fans...The one shown flying at the beginning of the above video is not the same as the ones that flew to the Falklands...can you spot the differences between it and the one shown on static display. There are at least 3 obvious ones...bonus question would be which squadron the one seen flying came from.

Which one? There are 3 Vulcan vids above.

The one in the video is 144 times bigger...

...or else that is a huge plate of Chinese chips and curry sauce

^ What's the tail number of that one on your desk Looper?

I meant the video directly above but the first video is the same with both having older Vulcans in flight with the "screaming" -200 series Olympus engines. The static displays all appear to be of XM607, which had -300 series engines and was one of the 5 which were involved in the Falklands. The second clue is the shiny paint scheme of the one flying, which is XH558 ex-maritime Vulcan from 27Sqn converted to a tanker (maritime 27sqn were known as the shiny bombers). The third clue is the "tit" on the front of the nose, missing on the flying ones in the 1st and 3rd videos, which was fitted to the XM series Vulcans. All the ones that flew to the Falklands were XM series with -300 series engines.

    Trivia over...

The Falklands Vulcan story is a very good read, but we digress.

I dicoverd yesterday that blokes cookery lacks one key component.

Just wolfed down a delicious BLT.

Is there anything easier that is tastier?

Just noticed a family pack of Sour Cream & Onion Lay looking at me from the shelves.

BLT served with Sour Cream & Onion crisps. Now there's a fine meal.

Please tell me that is some nightmare culled from the Internet and not something that has graced TC's dinner table.

In my opinion, there is not. You can fuck around with the minor details like should the bread be toasted, use of mayo instead of butter, use of mayo and butter, bacon crispness, and so on, but the combo of sweet/salty/crunchy is simply unbeatable and a 3 year old could be trained to make them perfectly with minimal use of a cattle prod.

Better than layered bologna with mayo frosting, would be my guess.

Made some more brioche buns yesterday, and today it was the turn of another shoulder of pork to be transformed into some burgers. Turned out well, with the burger sat on top of a good dose of BBQ sauce, and topped with some homemade coleslaw/mayo.

I'd take a hard pass on the coleslaw but I would smash the burger and bun.

I've grown to appreciate the tang a good slaw can add to a burger, helps cut through the grease.

Indeed, why I like to make my own mayo for the slaw. This particular mayo was made with some white wine vinegar and a spoon of dijon mustard.
