^Punkin is one of my favourite veggies, be it in soup, roasted, mashed, steamed, or even in pies

It's one of those things I seriously fucking hated as a kid, but really like now. Keto friendly too! As for soup being blokey or not, I'm meeting some mates to watch NRL games this afternoon so we'll definitely be getting on the soup and there's nothing more blokier than that

Firstly it's highly debatable that soup is 'blokey', and secondly pumpkin quite literally translates to "Devil's testicles" and is gross as fuck!

I'll grant that it's a pretty good effort though and doesn't look too bad for something made out of such an abomination of a squash.
    tinned soup ok.

hw deserves a red for that post because it doesn’t belong in this thread.

    Yup. Delishous.

With the added bonus of being amazingly cheap and Chitty-Proof easy to cook.

^ I was never exposed to pumpkin as a kid even at Halloween turnips were used for lanterns.
Here it is a cheap veg so I eat it. Can't say it is my favourite though.
I use it for soup - pumpkin, carrots, potatoes, onions and lots of red lentils and stock and a little tomato paste.
Put it in the slow cooker for many hours then into a blender to eat with a chunk of bread

I've heard it called On the sauce/suds/soz/turps/lash/ink/piss/juice/swill, having some jars/frothies/bending the elbow, but never heard it called on the soup!

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Maybe it is.

I'll throw my hat in the ring with Headworx. The gf came home with a large pumpkin the other day. Baht 50 in the village market.
I got a manly chopper and hacked a quarter into small pieces, into the slow cooker with some roughly chopped carrot and onion and some stock and black pepper. For extra manliness I add a little cummin. Then sit back and do man stuff for a few hours. I can't be bothered to use the blender, just get a manly masher and pound it a bit. Add black pepper and serve with hand-ripped brown bread and proper butter.
A swirl of cream and a sprig of cilantro might take it out of the realm of blokes' cookery, so I don't bother with those.

Enough left over for an easy lunch one day. It keeps well in the fridge.

    ^ Nice...Pumpkin soup is lovely.
Although it does sound rather gay... making soup.

I do have something in the slow cooker as it happens

It's a bolognese with carrots. Too many carrots actually, that have made it taste too sweet. It does taste a lot like pumpkin soup as it goes

Might have to get some Maggi sauce to rescue it.

Been mostly eating this Black Bomber extra creamy and crumbly mature cheddar this week.

    Lush

It's a shock to see how cheap food is in the UK again compared to Thailand, unless you live on rice and those pumpkins
