brands vary widely, nice to know that's an ok one to try.
^It was surprisingly good and I must buy another one to keep in the freezer. You couldn't count the amount of joints here that deliver pizza, but the place we like the best by far doesn't open till 16:00. That's no help for watching NRL/AFL games that start in the early afternoon, like today, and wanting some pizza to snack on during the games.
Yes but the other 2 AFL games and both NRL games are all early afternoon. Meanwhile, the WC ladies cricket final is on tv too between Oz and England that I'll be keeping en eye on. Looks very much like more rain is on the way this morning, a great day to write off as couch time :)
^The cricket's good viewing and going ok, England won the toss then sent Australia in and have got them on the rack at 0-120. Might see if I can berley up a bite on the Cricket Scores thread :)

M'Sahib giving me a hard time last night to use up the vegetables in the fridge before they had to be thrown out. Basically potato, carrots, peppers, onions, tomatoes etc. First thoughts were to just make up a large vegetable soup, though as I started to prep the veg, thought maybe something a little more different.
This is all just made up on the hoof, but vegetables and chicken, topped with sliced potatoes with some herbs thrown in.

Browned off the chicken pieces first of all.

Once browned, removed from the pan and put aside. In with the peppers (red, green, yellow), red onions, carrots, and garlic.

Let them soften for 15 minutes, then added the fresh tomatoes, and threw in a tin of diced tomato and some puree, along with a good seasoning of S&P.

After another 10 minutes, put the chicken back in, along with some dried basil and fresh parsley, and a good slug of cream and some grated parmesan to enrich everything.

Another 5 minutes, then into the oven dish and topped with the sliced potatoes.

Added some grated mature cheddar.

Into the oven for 30 minutes.

I would have never thought to make something like that out of those ingredients. Looks great!
Part 2 today of the great "use up the old veg in the fridge", in this case more potato, a small cabbage, spring onion and onion. Had 'Bubble and Squeak" written all over them so a no brainer.
Fried the onion/spring onion in some butter first until they started to caramelise:

Then added the cooked shredded cabbage:

Once the cabbage started to brown, added the mashed potato and some chopped fresh herbs. I made the mash with added garlic and cream, the herbs were parsley, coriander, and dill.

Everything mixed together, smoothed out, then allowed to brown on the underside.

Every few minutes turning it over bit by bit.

Bubble and Squeak freezes quite well, which is what's going to happen to this lot. Made a 'cake' of it on a board and divided into portion sizes, making sure all of the brown bits (which of course are the best part) are scraped out and added to the mix.

Started bagging up.

These will be great later, defrosted, heated in a pan with some butter, and a fried egg on top.

Very nice!!!!!!
That's a very nice from me too!
The polar opposite of my missus.
I came home the other day and she was cooking out of Chitty date pork, which stank the whole fukkin house out.
She said it wasn't for me, bless her and her iron gut:)
That bubble and squeak looks remarkably similar to quiche PAG.
My marriage offer is still there, if you've been giving it some thought:)
:) ^ I reckon you would do well on Masterchef

^^^^^Surprised to see our masterchef PAG slumming it in the Blokes Kitchen Bodgery thread
Looks mouthwatering as ever
We are honoured sir.
:notworthy:
^Agreed, his next-level food definitely doesn't belong being posted in between poorly cooked eggs and re-heated frozen pizza like the rest of us dish up in this thread :)
^^ and ^^^
Here ya go then, my occasional breakfast. Just add boiling water and some chilli flakes.

Might be of help to some bloke. Saw these for the first time recently and gave them a go, they're made in Belgium.

Into the Airfryer, the instructions say 200c for 10 minutes with one shake at half-time but I gave them 12 minutes, half a dozen shakes, and seasoned them with Garlic salt during cooking.

And there we go, crispy on the outside and soft centres with a good taste. Will definitely buy another bag for the freezer, perfect when the craving for a plate of chips kicks in :)

^ Why does such a lot of this kind of food begin with 'Mc'...
Nice at it is, are the Scots known for having an unhealthy diet, at all?
