Clarkson is right about heart, one of my favourites, at least 3 times a month growing up.
Braised steak and onions, an easy blokes cookery dish which is what it's all about.
Attachment 46201
Started with steak that was probably too good to be braised, but wtf. Argentinian ribeye.
Attachment 46202
Flour, salt, and pepper at the ready to dust the steak and seal it in hot oil.
Attachment 46203
Done in batches, just needs a bit of brown on the outside.
Attachment 46204
More seasoned flour at the ready for the onions, by this time the kitchen looks like a coffee table at a Bolivian's bucks party :)
Attachment 46205
Heaps of onions, cannot add enough really.
Attachment 46206
A bit of colour + soaking up all the juice and gnarly bits left over from the steak.
Attachment 46207
The only thing I'll be adding for flavour, plus a dash of Worcestershire. Not a big fan of red wine and what-not in this dish because it takes away the sweetness of the onions :(
Attachment 46208
Ready to be covered tightly in tinfoil, then into the oven @ 170c.
Attachment 46209
2 hrs later...

The meat can be cut with a tea spoon, lovely :). Plenty left over, any not eaten by tomorrow night will be zip-bagged up and frozen for a later lunch.
^^Heaven:)
^^^ agreed HW too good for stew, needs shin
:wank:
Thats as blokey as it gets HW. you cant go wrong with a braised steak n onion. Many years ago in Angeles me and bigbird would hit the grubby butcher for what passed for steak in them days . Cook er long n slow. There wasnt a whole lot of fastfood available then either. So it was kinda necessary in order to keep up our drinkin and shagging stamina. They hadnt even invented viagra back then.
^Yes mate they were dire times for getting decent grub, either eating out or to cook at home.
Luckily, some other things made up for that and life was bearable :naughty:

Very blokey looking ingredients there worxy - nice
Had some rice left over from the last indian Curry batch so I was trying to think what to do with it and i thought some kind of egg fried rice. But there was more egg than rice so it is really an omelette.
So easy and fast and yummy and the fastness is the blokey qualification in this case. Literally 3 minutes from opening the fridge to a hot meal on a plate.
Chop some onion.
Break 3 eggs.
Chop in some capsicum and ham and add the rice

I realised after it was half done that it would need to be flipped.
I am new to this omelette malarkey so some flipping practice is required.

^ Good god man. Get yourself married:)
Just a moan
How daft have you to be to post a full pic post to add a comment...
Lol! I have solved the frying pan flipping challenge by cutting the omelette in 2 halves and flipping each piece with the little flippy flipper thingy.
I have a wild rose garden by one of the creeks in the middle of the forest Toot.
