Actually, left over mash prepared in this manner aren't too bad.
Kind of a potato pancake version..

Mash, little flour, pinch or two of baking power, egg, milk/heavy cream.

Probably more comfort food for sissy boys going through alcohol withdrawal, than bloke's food.

Chucked a can of chick peas in with cumin, paprika, lime juice, olive oil, baby garlic heads and s&p.

    Nuked in the wave.

Mashed up with extra seasoning as desired.

Will pull the leftovers out of the fridge tomorrow and have in a pita with chicken, lettuce and tomato.

I won't eat the nasty things. Whatever they're called. Same for black-eyed peas.

Can't have humor without "U." Lately I haven't even left my small town.

Anyway, it was years before I learned garbanzo beans and chickpeas were the same thing. Me mum always called them the former. Didn't like hers either.

So this thread went quite so I better push it up. So the lady is out of town on business and I have to fend for myself. So for dinner tonight I had a chili dog. Can of my fav chili, a good quality hot link and a roll. A bit sloppy as the damn thing fell over when I ladled the chili over it...

A few hours later I set to work on tomorrows meal which will be a pot of ham and beans. Started off with the leftover Easter ham hock and scraps, added onion, carrots, celery, beans, pepper, a sprig of rosemary from the garden and then I will cover it all with water and it will be cooked in the crockpot/slow cooker on low for over twelve hours. Currently simmering away as it is 3am here and when I wake up for the morning piss it will smell lovely.

When I wake for the morning piss I will have a piss and a fart, grab a could drink of ice water from the fridge and stir it all up.

One hour in the cooker on high. Time to give it the first stir so that ham bone sinks to the bottom.

Now down to low to cook for the night and for me to drink the last beers I got left then.

Give it 12 hours. After I get up It will look even better. The thing is that this is the ultimate blokes food. So fucking easy and it literally took 15 minutes to prep. I texted the lady last night and said I was starving and had nothing to eat. She said take the Easter ham hock out of the freezer and reminded me that I have made ham and beans many times and to put on my big boy pants and get started.

It may look small lads but that is 6 quarts in that cooker.
