Arno's Steakhouse - Thonglor Soi 17

I was talking burgers with a couple of my coworkers and Arno's was mentioned as the best in their opinion. As it's been yonks since I last tried a new burger place I figured I'd give it a try.

The branch I visited is on Thonglor. It's right near where the old Woodstock was.

It was amazing. It's an open kitchen plan and the aroma of sizzling beef filled the restaurant.

I got their "Traditional" burger and the wife got a Philly cheese steak. I started off with a Vietnamese dark beer that was good.

The food was great. 220B for the 200 gram hamburger and fries. The tab came to a bone crushing 700B.

It's probably the best burger deal in Bangkok and one of the best tasting burgers as well.

We'll definitely be back.

There's an Arno's on Srinakarin as well. Like the Philly cheese steak.

The service can be shite at times though.

Where? Though it was probably easier to get to the branch on Thonglor rather than Srinakarin due to the traffic.

Arno can also be found at EM Quartier Emporium

Tried the Philly in Thonglor Soi 8 at that ridiculous overpriced Argentina Steak House,

a complete rip off at 1,000 THB

Not far from sikarin hospital. Opposite side of the road. It's actually in (or just behind) a petrol station.

The one in Pattaya's new Terminal 21 gets some great reviews. They were giving out free burgers when they opened too.

I'd have swapped that pink sauce for mayo. Why are there only a few curly fries on there? Did you nick the wife's?

LOL, I do still have all my fingers....

That was the serving. I was well impressed with the amount of fries I got on the side. Normally you can count the number of fries at a glance.

The sauce was just above good...basically spicy aioli (sp) .... mayo with a bit of ketchup and spice mixed. Good, but definitely not great.

^yeah. But it being served with two very different style "burgers"* is a bit of a bad sign

*don't think a phiily steak is a burger per se, but could not think of a better word.

LOL...I do believe there was a burger reviewed....

The steak sandwich was excellent as well. The meat was sliced nice and thin with the prefect quantity of sauted onion's and bell peppers.

Looks like a very nice patty but the bacon could have done with some extra cooking time. I think I might go the the philly steak sandwich

As would I. Plenty of decent burgers to found but a decent philly cheese steak is as rare as a 17 year old virgin.
