Next time you're in Pala, buy a round of Crecia bread to take home, you can slice and freeze the surplus, makes really good toast + butter marmalade etc From your photos it looks like they gave you the Spelt which is the other one they make.

Pala make the best pizza in Thailand, it's authentic Italian pizza as you would buy in Rome, the dough is not mixed by a machine and given several days to prove, the finished item is even sold by the metre as it should be.

isn't Pala located down the stair of the Asok BTS station? go there quite often for the pizza, even take out to eat in Cowboy or Nana, great bar food

the rest of the menu I tried some a few times and wasn't impressed at all. The cheap deserts at 75 THB were actually good,

wine is always poor value in Thailand, not bothering anymore, 7 EUR a glass for poor wine, jesus this is criminal

...they serve all their bread varieties free with meals...I've been tempted to pick up a round or two as both crust and texture are excellent...

    Tom,

Why don't you go off piste and ask them to do pesto on the pizza, they have it in their menu so they only have to decide how much to charge you....

Yes, maybe most authentic pizza in Thailand is more apt.

They are quite flexible on their toppings, I'm sure they would accommodate any requests. I like their Margarita with added boquerones.

...good idea...I'd have to catch the Italian owner (or possibly his Thai-Chinese wife) to make the request...

Tom, maybe a store front shot so we know the place where you dined.

Plus, I only read your reviews to see what shirt you are wearing.

    No photo this time.

I've been cheeky all my life, if not a little cheap....... so i'd ask for some pesto in a small dish to have with the bread and drizzle it over my pizza when it arrives...may avoid the Thai No Hab answer you'll get if the owner is not around.

...stopped by Pala once again (we're here at least once a month) for a lunch of mussels and spaghetti in tomato sauce and clams and spaghetti in white wine sauce: both excellent, but the clams approached sublime....we started with our usual tomato bruschetta on grilled sour dough bread and (I) enjoyed several glasses of Montepulciano red...

Looks nice. I have found that Cherry Toms are quite easy to grow in Thailand - good return for the effort.

^the local cherry tomatoes aren't nearly as sweet as those imported from Italy (sometimes available at Pala) or Japan (usually available at Central Chidlom supermarket)...
