    Vodka and its mixers.

I'm usually a beer, scotch and wine man. Not always at the same time, but whenever possible.

I fancy a bit of a change and will pick up a bottle of vodka.

Which one is best, Smirnoff or Absolute?

I won't go for one of the flavoured ones.

When drinking scotch I just go for an ice cube, dash of soda and top up with mineral water.

    But for vodka?

Dash of Ginger Ale and top up with mineral water?

I'm not into lots of sugary or syrupy mixers and like to keep things relative pure.

A squirt of lime juice with some soda and water?

Any Vodka drinkers on board that can share their method of mixation?

Ice, tonic and lime or lemon in a pint mug. 50-50 vodka to tonic ration. Perfect.

I prefer Absolut but Smirnoff will do. Keep away from the cheap shit. Store your vodka in the freezer, it likes it there.

Two shots chilled Vodka to one shot Red Bull. No ice. Repeat as long as still standing.

Thanks. You reminded me of my XTC period.

A few E's, then slamming back glasses of Vodka and Red Bull like there's no tomorrow.

    Oh to be 19 again.

    Will try the cranberry juice.

This is more for while relaxing at home, rather than running around a club with my underpants on my head. So may leave the redbull firmly in the past.

Thanks everybody for your information and suggestions.

Thanks, I will probably just add a drop, then add mineral water.

    Ice Cube.
    Shot of vodka.
    Shot of Cranberry juice.
    Double shot of mineral water.

    Sounds quite nice actually.

    Thanks.

Looks like either the real deal, or a smirnoff copy. I'll guess the real deal.

Is it sold in Thailand? How much is it?

    Thanks.

Looks a slice of lime can also be added.

Guess that 11:30am is a bit too early to start.

^No worries. If your mixer is cranberry juice, it counts as a breakfast beverage.

    Hardly touch spirits thesed days

For flavour availibilty Gilbeys OK , but for same prcie their gin in most 7/11 and supermarkets is unbeatable,a world brand at local prices, There are superior gins Hendricks and Tanqueray to name 2 readily sold in Siam / neighbouring duty free

    VODKAS
Grey Goose and if your going to that expense Cranberry , tho hard to find 100% unsweetened.

I like Danzka neat, The Metal bottle has many advantages it's not a premium brand around $10 in Burma and airports but consistent.
Wybroda and Finlandia ok and as others said Stolly tho I think poor value at local prices

Avoid all local brands and cocktails sold in tourist are vans usually Lao Khao at vodka prices

Russian Standard is much better than absolute and that other crap.

Not much between Absolute and Smirnoff to my personal taste. Tonic, ice and a wedge of lime. Pleasant drink.

But a bit dismissive of Vodka to be honest. One day when you do not have too much on the following day, give yourself a treat.

Get a bottle of Belvedere (just the stock bottle) - throw it in the freezer (not the fridge) for a few hours. To be sipped in small glasses throughout the evening, accompanied by small snacks and tidbits. A very pleasant way to spend an evening.

Belvedere is a rye vodka - get out there and source some potato vodkas as well as a few of the others which can be made from different bases.

    ^^ Duly noted. Thanks.

Are any of them available at the 7-11 or Tesco Express? About how much per liter?

I think the Absolute is 829b p/l, and the Smirnoff around 759b p/l. Could be way off but those numbers are in my noggin.

^ Thanks. I can't take Tonic. Think it's the quinine or whatever in it. Could never have G+T's because of it.

Gilbeys around 480 in Tesco just as good IMHO , I think nearer 600 in 7/11

Used to see Seagrams Vodka occasionaly good brand at normal prices

Niddhogs Belvedere is a superior product for superior people, better class of hangover, of course if wake up with a Katoey and a sore bottom don't blame us

Smirnoff is the knockoff its distilled in the US. Real Wodka comes from mother Russia. Stoli is as good as it gets. Also true wodka drinkers always keep the bottle in the freezer. Drinking warm wodka is sacrilege.

    Thanks.

I'll give it a good looking. I guess that as with whiskey, the price you pay is also measured in hangover.

Grey Goose. Injected. Into the eyeball. While soddomising myself with a large bottle of lau khao.

I don't think anyone else is really taking this seriously.

Russian Standard is available in some Tops, Villa etc. Price equal to Absolute.

If you live in UK, get yourself Down to Asda and look for their own brand diet cranberry energy drink. Costs about 15p a can.
If you want to get drunk and not fall asleep mix this stuff with vodka ( or lau khao if you are slap) .
    Thank me later.
