Fucking bastards at Central Rama 2!!!

They couldn't sell it to me because it's the last one and for "Display Only". It seems that slipped their minds yesterday when I was looking at it.

Why not put a "Sold Out" sticker on it or better yet take it off the shelfs? Oh wait...That would be too easy.

Anyway, found it here so will just have to wait until after new year.

    You're surprised?

The wankers at the Emporium who sold me that German (quality, you know) Braun coffee maker told me "no problem. 1 year warranty"

Right...turns out it was a 1 week/7 day warranty when the missus tried to take it back.

Mai pen rai - this Electrolux we have now seems to be OK - hanging in there so far - touch wood.

Oh I did, off all 3 of the shop assistants they sent me, one after the other, to say exactly the same bloody thing.

Anyway, never mind. She'll have to have her present when she comes back from work next week instead.

Nespresso does not recommend customers to purchase coffee capsules from other sources. As a result, choice of flavours is limited and there is limited competitive downward pressure on capsule prices. Nespresso seeks to position the brand as an exclusive luxury good. The price of capsules in 2011 ranged from US$0.57 to US$0.64 each.[24] For comparison to buying coffee by weight, 167-200 5–6 gram capsules contain one kilogram of coffee (76-91 contain one pound). At 2011 prices the per-weight cost is US$95–114/kilogram (US$43–58/pound). In March 2011, the Swiss discount supermarket, Denner, won a court battle with Nestlé over the sale of Nespresso compatible capsules. The plastic capsules are approximately half the retail price of the genuine Nespresso capsules

Had an Electrolux filter machine going on 4-5 years now. The flask is a bit chipped and whatnot but it just keeps going on.

Get a Keurig. Although, I don't think they sell them in Asia yet.

The best thing I ever had. I can buy hundreds of different types of K-cups to suit my fancy. I can even put tea in it.

    Right.

I feel like I'm fully armed.

I've got an email from Electrolux saying that the said coffee machine is EOL (End of Line) and I've been on the phone to the boss of Central (More likely someone they fobbed me off with saying he was the boss) and he said that they are never again going to stock this said coffee machine.

I'm going back to Central Rama 2 now with said info in the hope that they will sell me the fucking thing.

This has been the most fucking work Ive ever put into a present.

I would save yourself the journey, if something packs up on it they wont be able to get a part for it. Plus they've most likely lost the lead and accessories that should come with it

Bollox. As it turns out the display model is broken. I made them load it up with coffee and water and when they plugged it in the 'on' switch didn't work. I wasn't expecting that when I called the manager and made a massive fuss.

I've bought her a nike yoga mat set instead.

I've been told of one more place that I might be able to get the electrolux. I'm going tomorrow and if I can't get it I'll settle for either a French press or something similar to above. (All of which I think will be better anyway I just don't want to look like a cheap arse with the pressy buying)

Coffee machine is a blessing I do not have this at home but at work, fortunately there is one! I do not know too much on coffees, so I would chose the simplest to burn a standard black coffee, which I like the most. But we know that this is a matter of taste.

I got a cheap coffee press at Robinsons for 160baht. I've already stopped using it because it was a mess to clean and the coffee was way too strong. I must be a bit like the stuff the cowboys drank out on the range with all the mud in it. I also stopped because I heard coffee is inflammatory. When I do have a lot of fresh coffee I start to get a stuffed up yet runny nose. That's also the case with wine or alcohol. For the moment, I'm going with tea.
