It was good when Chris owned it but he sold it a few years ago. I've heard it has gone downhill since and sunsetter's review confirms this.

Its not bad at all. You can have john dory or cod. The chips are nice and they do mushy peas as well.

Steer clear of the curry sauce though, oh and be careful you dont pick up the heinz chili sauce instead of ketchup :-)

Awful stuff, each time the fish has been totally freezer burned and had that horrible dry rubbery texture.

Even my son who eats anything said it was shite.

The place in Sukhumvit Soi 11 - Snapper - is much better.

I always thought the chippie on soi 23 was shite. It's always stuck on my mind even after a huge night on the town. As usually I can't remember bugger all.

I went there after winning one of stickman's photo competitions. Food was pretty good (I had bangers and mash), but since I rarely venture out to Khao Sarn I doubt I'd go back.

    So I've been told

If you are nostalgic for the ambience of a dilapidated and rundown northern backstreet chippy circa 1970, if you want your clothes to smell of soured vinegar and fishy grease, if you relish in the waves of nausea that come after eating oleagenous poor quality fare, then the offshore is for you.

The addition of some old daily mirrors, damp gaberdeen raincoats, green wall tiles, untipped woodbine dog ends, stained flat caps and a background soundtrack of hacking coughs would complement the soggy food, rank odor and atmosphere of total despair that pervades this grim time warped hangout that has somehow managed to survive until now.

For unreconstructed and depressed northern geriatrics only.

Must admit, you've sold it to me.

Do they do discounts if i wear my flat cap, have a couple of ferrets in my raincoat pockets and a whippet on the end of a piece of string?

Cod has the type of fishy flesh that doesn't freeze well....
Like many fish varieties, fresh is always best.

In fact, the "radical" ideal of preserving flesh [of any sort] is quite destructive to the ultimate quality.
