Not in Makro Phuket last I checked. They used to stock it but no longer do.
None here in Roiet either.Originally Posted by quimbian corholla
They usually have it in Villa Market beside HomePro in Chalong when I have been there. 60 baht a bottle.
makro used to sell it, usually hidden away with the spirits. They never really pushed the stuff, probably got disappointed with the sales and stopped
They sell it just about everywhere in Chiang Mai, 43 baht in Big C.
It looks like the whole of Bangkok has run out of Beer Lao.
In all the pubs I go to it's 'mai mee' and the last time I looked also Villa only had Lao Dark available.
Makro on Samui sell the dark.
Pallets of it at Makro Pattaya last weekend, from memory it is 850b a slab.
I never thought it was a good beer. Can someone give me the beer taster's angle?

^ the light is crisp and clean with such alchemical stench as the local produce and the dark is the only local dark available, and its not bad.
It's not quite as terrible as all the other beers you get here, unless you go to Vientiane to drink it where most bars seem to unplug the fridges at night turning it into beer vinegar.Originally Posted by Bazzy
The daft kunts do that at the minimarts as well, they think it saves em electricity , have a minimart near me in vientiane that has all the choice tucker a discerning punter could wish for, steaks, seafood etc. When i saw them unplugging the freezers for the night i stopped buying there
^wasnt me, i havent been in bangkok for a while,
Endless supply where i am
^ Hate you
had enough ?
Noooooooo
There are stacks of cold ones where I drink.......
Yep, my local Makro sells it!
Crate secured!
They also have it at Big C extra on Pattaya Klang.
Was about 1000 for the case, and individual bottles are 45 baht. That was the light, they didn't have any dark.
*bump* for those interested.
I was in Makro Phuket today and they have cases of beer Lao light and dark stacked up high in stock again.
Not cheap though, IIRC it was 900+ for a case of 330ml bottles of light and a bit over 1,000 for the dark.

This time.
It makes a Mockery of the concept of inter SE Asian Asian free trade doesn't it?
^ It does pedro, Perhaps the Thais are savvy enough to realise beerlao is serious competition for the (IMHO) very ordinary thai beers, and deliberately try to price it out of the lower income earners?
True enough, even the standard BL is a mile away from the standard Thai stuff, but the dark is almost another category.
I had to pop over the border on Thursday, so got my self 6 super size cans, and did a tasting against big cans of Chang, no comparison in my opinion.
There can’t be good living where there is not good drinking
