My GF grows Orchids, roses and a kind of giant african marigold, which she tells me goes for about 50 baht a bloom. She does it for fun though not for profit.
i am sure you probably know this already but the choice of soils for this kind of endeavor is very important.

The only other thing I can think of other than orchids is the special lotus flower that is used heavily in honoring Buhdda. They are different from the pond type found in garden water features. Apparently they grow very tall ????

Depending on the time frame of expected returns you may think of the flowering plants that appear to be stunted... Very thick root bases, few leaves and flowers at the end of the sprigs. Haven't a clue what they are called, but saw one at recent plant fair that went for 25,000 baht, 7 years old. About a meter ++ in height and about 3/4 meter around. Beautiful plant. The "short one" here has several she has done from seed.

I can get a pick if needed.

As mentioned elsewhere I recently visited a commercial orchid grower in Yasothon. She has over 4000 Vanda orchids growing under shade netting. didnt' get a chance to chat with her but understand it is very profitable.

The SiL grows marigolds and sells shit loads of them when it's time to bribe the Saffron Maria.

And I'm just wondering what kind of gardening/nursery skills you have... before starting a 10 rai nightmare.

Why don't you read/search internet a bit and come back with some specific questions, because your question is now too open. Here are some for you:

・Do you already have 10 rai?
・What kind of soil do you have?
    ・Did you have it tested?
・What was grown on this piece of land before?
・Does the land have water (lake/pond/well) all year round?
    ・Does the land have electricity?
・Do you have any help from a Thai partner?
・Did you check if (skilled) labour is available?
・Do you know what flower crops nurseries in your area (Roi Et?) grow?
・Will you sell your products locally (direct to consumer) or (wholesale) internationally?
・Do you know your way around in the Thai-international sales/distribution system ?

As for plants genera/species, I would have a look at

    ・Aloe vera (cosmetics)
    ・Hibiscus sabdariffa (drinks)
・All bromeliads and succulents (ornamental/growing market), including strange varieties of Adenium obesum (I think that's the one El Gibbon ^^ refers to),
・Anything fragrant like Plumeria, Lavandula, Gardenia, Jasminum (cosmetics)
・Any (kitchen) herbs, especially the 'western' ones
    ・Any medicinal plants
・Forget the trees and the palms; too many nurseries already, unless you find/have a market outside Thailand and/or have lots of time too grow them tall.
・Anything Asian ornamental that can be grown from seed. Sell the seed over the internet
・Are there any Afghan ornamental plants, not yet available in Thailand that could be grown here?

Well, you're busy for a while....

Extremely good advice from Gipsy, and in particular what has been grown there before.

Ye an need to keep an eye on them at night-time. Be like leaving money lying on the ground. Rice has been known to vanish over-night in hugh quantities. Sorry , that's the best i can offer.

Just as the OP talks about a commercial venture, I'll put first the two lasts :

・Will you sell your products locally (direct to consumer) or (wholesale) internationally?
・Do you know your way around in the Thai-international sales/distribution system ?

What the point to grow something you can't / don't know how to sell ?

If you already have the contacts, they will tell you what sell best / what they want, then you can go back to Gipsy check list to see if you can grow it.
