    Tree question?

A few years back I bought a fair sized tree and had it planted, primary purpose was to give shade where a car was parked.
All was well until this year, appears it's a fruit tree, purple berries that seem to constantly rain down, staining driveway and car - if anybody needs to make purple dye, look no further.
My question is, what is it? and how do I stop the fruit\berry things falling down?

This is the same tree that had red ants, guess I know what they were eating - wish they would come back and eat some more!

It sounds like a Mulberry, delicious but they do make everything red

not a good choice of tree for where you walk or park

The only way to stop the fruits falling is to stop them getting fertilised in the first place. Put up a sign when it starts to flower "Bugger off bees"
    I have reported your post

well if is a mulberry then they have a distinct shape, not like most berrys, but if it is mulberry you can go in the silk worm business as they eat the leaves of the mulberry and in turn you, notice I said YOU, can eat them after they have done their jobs.

Best way to take care of this problem is to get a high pressure water sprayer and knock off all the the blossoms before they bear fruit. Used to do it to olive trees on a grass area so people didn't stain their trousers.

Any local would cherish the idea of removing red ants, lots of nourishing eggs in the nests, a delicacy to many Thai's. It's just a pain removing the ants pincers for your ball sack after you've already torn the body from the head. But, ho hum, such is life.

you can have a Thai come in and remove it if you give it to him for sawing into lumber or what ever he wants to use it for I imagine.
Seems like down here they are always scouting some more firewood.
