No that would be a 'really big' catfish. Big ones are about 75kg.

Good depth. This way it won't freeze down to the bottom in winter. That's a rule here if you want to keep fish in the pond during winter.

Attaining an unconfirmed length of 3 m, the Mekong giant catfish grows extremely quickly, reaching a mass of 150 to 200 kg in only six years.[8] The largest catch recorded in Thailand since record-keeping began in 1981 was a female measuring 2.7 m (roughly 9 feet) in length and weighing 293 kg

Nice cover for your pond CMN. The only problem that I see is getting the leaves off of the green canopy. Had the same setup with a few of my veggies. Once the leaves get wet, damn hard to remove.

Hope you don't have any bamboo plants nearby.

That's why I said Really Big. The biggest one I saw was caught by a 70 year old dude at Bung Sam Lang. It wasnt far off 300kg and took him over 1 and a half hours to land the bugger. It still took a load of us armed with towels to pick the thing up for a picy!

I also think the pond is very nice and your dog, Gilly, is very nice also. Did you notice that your watering can has fallen over?

And about your erection, was it your own doing or did somebody lend a hand to assist in making such an erection possible?
I do like your dog, where did you get the dog? NR?

    Looks ok Nooners!

However, I'm looking for a water circulation unit and I don't see one. The pond is far too new to be able to support fish without oxygen and there are no plants there yet so far as I can see?

If it's a serious venture, buy some large trees, and make sure they are pliable, bend them over and secure them to each other, very securely, and much wider distance than you have given with the cover (No room for a seat etc).

    Like a gigantic arch.

Feed some climbers across the bamboo, you need plenty of real shade.

Get rid of the sheet cover, it be a waste of time.

You could even be magnifying the sun's rays with that lot.

Stick to Koi Carp and goldfish.

Maybe a few simple additional species, but don't get ambitious, the more simple the contents the better.

Get yourself a really decent pool type chair and table under the canopy of trees and have a few beers.

Or, a nice cup of tea.

    Hey, I like it!

The split bamboo will probably start growing soon!
You need some lillies or such to give shade and oxygen to the water. Shouldn't need recirc if you can keep it shaded and some plants in there. Don't put spirella type plants in there, they take over the place.
Shade is the deal, if you can keep the direct sun to a minimum and have healthy plant life the water will stay clear.
Good Luck with the next big blow!
