    Orchid Nurseries and Sellers

Outside of searching online or local knowledge, can anyone tip me off as to orchid nurseries or {private} sellers within the Surin, Si Sa Ket, Buriram, or Nakhon Ratchasima {Khorat} Provinces? In particular, but not limited to these varieties, I'm engaged in finding the Burmese varieties. In passing....I came across this interesting forum regarding tropical varieties. http://www.tropicalflowersforum.com Thanks for any hints!!

My wife's best friend is the owner of this Orchid farm thaiorchids . co . th Have a look at the site, has all the info. We were looking into selling to the UK and being their agent but the pound fell and the airport closed so wasn't the best timing.

I've been to the farm and it's stunning. If it's what your looking for let me know and I'll put you in touch.

Thanks Mini, I'll check it out. Though, one can find 'local' orchids online and mail-order only, we like to browse the actual nursuries. As I see, your friend's locale is BKK Metro - that wouldn't be a problem. I'll keep in touch. What we've been known to do is to scower the region in hopes of finding the odd variety or two...quite enjoyable, if you're into orchids {and other unusual flora varieties}. Thanks for the tip!!

    Chantaburi orchids

If your really interested in orchids the Chantaburi area is a must. There is even a species of orchid found only in that area. The Chantaburi orchid of course.

In conjunction with the Ag uni there the Feb show is amazing. You can get anything from "starter" seedling to orchids that run several thousands of baht ( have seen some in the 50,000 baht range.

Here are some pics from the show from my "moving to the mooban thread"

Also somewhere in that thread there are pics of 'wild' Chantaburi orchids. They grow like weeds on rubber trees. Extremely delicate flowers that last only a couple of days.
