Flies , flies, and ,more flies

Like everyone else , we had some, but nothing we could not handle, then suddenly a few days ago we became fly central.
    What gives?
is it the rains we had a few days ago?
We have a big mango tree, that seems to have lots of flies. Do Mango trees attract flies? I know they do fruit flies, but these are not fruit flies)
a lady a couple of houses had a cow/ buffalo , (kwai) . She sold it , is it possible that they are looking for another place now, and the closest smelling thing to a Kwai is at our house?
Anyway I need to do something about it , and I am not taking a bath
what is the next best option?
Looking at Lazada and I see , Fly traps. Do they work?
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

You can neutralise most burns, mozzies, ants, stinger nettles etc with juice from leaves, so why not scare the fuckers away with some preemptive action

    I'm guessing here.

Feel free to go for the patent, if I'm right

    BB,
While I haven't had the heavy fly thing here, a few years back the neighbors chicken coop was was apparently pretty ripe and drew them in. So I made a stink bucket and put way out in my back forty and they followed thr smell and none around the house. I did same with ants. Put a big can of coke out against the wall and they found it and all gone.

In Thailand the tiny fruit flies do my head in, buzzing around my eyes and making it impossible to enjoy an evening Leo with Ya Dong.

But, as BLD says they have nothing on the flies in Australia. I well remember my times on a mate's farm in Wooroloo near Perth WA (you'll know the area BLD). The bloody huge flies just drive you mental buzzing around your head, landing on any uncovered patch of skin and sometimes it was hard to keep it together.

Breathe in through your nose too deeply and the flies shoot up your nostrils, get lodged somewhere in your sinuses and you end up snorting them back further so you can spit them out of your mouth. And that can really make you gag.

And yes, they are just relentless.

Possible that they are worst elsewhere, but that's not my question,
as I said we always had some flies , but all of a sudden we had an explosion of flies, and was wondering what could had cause this.
Previous to this it had rain for a few days, I know lots of water can increase the mosquito population .but can it laso inrease the fly population?
It would be great if it was the rain, because then I can look forward to fly normalcy as the weather dries up.
And my other question is: I was searching Lazada for remedies and saw Fly traps with bait
. Does anyone have experience with them? do they work or will it be a waste of money?

BB I suspect the ankle flies may be a result of splash when you slash

    jesus h.

Mortein "Insect Seeking Fly Spray" uses the active ingredients Allethrin (2.09 g/kg) and Resmethrin (0.39 g/kg), both Pyrethroid neuro-toxins. One study found an association between exposure to pyrethroids and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in male, but not female, children.[6] Another study found an association between exposure to pyrethroids and the prevalence of biochemical markers for ADHD in developing mice.[7] There is evidence that continuous exposure to pyrethroid-based mosquito repellents can lead to adverse health effects. Studies have shown significant increase in the levels of plasma glucose, phospholipids, nitrite and nitrate, and lipidperoxides with a decrease in plasma cholesterol.[8] It is also shown that inhaling d-trans-Allethrin can irritate the nose, throat and lungs. High exposure may cause headache, dizziness, irritability, seizures, and a loss of consciousness. Exposure may also cause a skin allergy or asthma-like allergy, and damage the liver and kidneys.[9]
    Its a peculiarly australian problem
more a problem to do with your ignorance.

Got some fly trap paper and put it where I noticed flies like to hung out , (No not my head LOL)
Though it is supposed to have bait on it, I put a couple of drips of fish sauce on them.
it looks like it did the trick.

Nice job BB. Seems to have worked. I use those fly paper things to nab Jingjoks around the house upstairs. Works great. Lay in a corner by a window.
