^ Had 2 of them in our outside pond in Bkk. Bought small, gre to be massive. Didn't see them for months during one 'cool' season, then some rare sightings after. We called them black sharks, due to the size and shape from underneath.

Many aquarium owners view the Siamese Algae Eater (SAE) to be a must have fish in their tank. It is a hardy, strong swimmer and jumper, attaining lengths of up to 14 centimeters. It is a voracious eater and will consume not only algae from plants, glass and decorations, but leftover pellets, pizza, parboiled vegetables, flake food and live food.
They have an appetite for flatworms, which are considered a nuisance. They don’t mind feasting on brush and thread algae, types commonly ignored by other algae eaters

Goldfish. They are nasty little things and need super filtration or constant change of water. They aren’t fit to keep with your other tropicals.
Goldfish alone in a small bowl and change the water every couple of days. Tropicals in the tank with the filter. Cut back on the food.
Problem solved.
We had a gold fish that lived to be 13 and grew to a whopping 10centimeters.

I had tropicals when I was a kid.
Plecostomus was my favourite.
I might get some more. You can get cool auto-feeders these days that let you leave them for a weeks.
Never keep the noisy fvckers in a bedroom!
They are worse than a hamster on a wheel.
Chinese water torture listening to that pop pop pop noise all night.
Covered with tomato sauce on toast is a remedy.
Empty the water out of the fish tank clean thoroughly the fill with the larger or cider of your choice.
The alcohol will kill any algae and the fish will be very happy.
Either bacteria bloom or that koont Jeff popped round and plopped one in it.
A few litres of liquid chlorine will sort that.
