    Koi Pond filter

Ok so I build a new house last year and with it included an ornamental small koi pond

I travel a lot for work and because I am not there most of the time to take care of it I have not done much with it.
I am approaching retirement and if I can sort out some personal issues I should be retiring in less than a year and I have started thinking about a filter for the pond.My plan is to build a waterfall on the side that you see the white electric outlet on the column, and discharge the filter water through the waterfall.
I am located in Khon Kaen.
This is what I am looking for, but I am open and will consider all suggestions.

I don't like purchasing such things from lazada, because when it comes to future maintenance required I am afraid the seller will not be available for help and advice.
I have looked locally but have not found anything like it in Khon Kaen, I remember seeing a large pet section at Chatuchak market and perhaps I will take a drive and look there.
So any advice on the filter and or the waterfall would be appreciated.

The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

The waterfall idea is great, but I think you'll find you're over-powering it. A smaller pond pump with a filter tray will do... I reckon. Most aquatic shops have them, here in hatyai I know of two such shops within a couple of km of home and I doubt Khon Kaen doesn't have them.
Remember to get a timer, too.

In Khon Kaen there are two major garden center ,a large one with many vendors (I got a water fountain and many plants there) but no one dealt in koi pond supplies, near the University there is another one, a bit smaller but with a few vendors also, on one side there are a couple of shops that sold tropical fish, I bought a couple of goldfish and guppies from there that I put in the ponds, they seem to be doing well eating mosquitoes, and bugs that fall in the pond.
The pond is larger than it appears in the picture and I am afraid a tray filter will not be sufficient to remove all the nutrients produced by the plants, fish and pond , resulting in algal bloom,
I have done some research on the subject and it would require mechanical, aerobic and anaerobic filtration and UV light sterilization.
Thank you for the timer idea , a great idea that I had not considered.
In the US I have Wifi enabled outlets controlled via Alexa and smartphone app,I just looked and ordered the following and will bring it with me when I come back,

it say 125 v input but when I researched it further it will work with 240v

Wow, I didn't know it was so complex.
Consider a few bla tesabahn in with your koi to eat the algae, some prawns, and some snails, water weeds, both grounded and floating. An ecosystem that will sort itself out.

Good advise in the above, a few small algae eating catfish will certainly be included.
I have seen natural filtration systems where the water is run through a small "bog" with gravel and plants to clean the water, unfortunately I don't have the space, time or the incarnation for the work required. Perhaps when I retire and have more time , it would be a nice project to tackle,

Well, hopefully the retirement will be quite some time before the next incarnation.

Still having problems with current life to worry about incarnations. Anyway if karma has anything to do with it, I am not looking forward to any incarnations , as awful as this one might be I am afraid I am in for a nasty surprise in the next one . I think I'll keep this one as long as possible.

So, you're saying you've got no inclination to look forward...

Cy was making a "funny" at your predictive text blooper. He likes those kind of things. Best aimed at ignorant malapropisms, but predictive text mistakes will do.

I think malapropisms are fair game as it indicates ignorance or a brain fart, and can be funny, but typos and predictive text oversights? You're just too desperate to find mistakes in others.

It's an old tread, but just for the sake of it.. Never...ever...never...put a filter on a timer!
A filter has filter media and on that media bacteria live. Those bacteria convert fish-waste into non-toxic waste (which is great for watering your plants, orchids really like it..)

If you put your filter (and pump that runs it) on a timer, then you starve those bacteria from food.
You'll never get the pond to mature, fish-waste will build up and your fish will suffer.. Stunted growth and even worse..they end up dead in their own waste.

A filter has to run 24/7/365!!!
