What a difference some "green" makes, looking good, well done! Give it plenty of water for the first week or so and try not to walk on it.

The difference between no gras and then grass is stunning it looks fabulous. I hope it all grows well and stays looking as good as it does now.
My first thought when I seen it was, "wonder what the lady who sold the place to you thinks now". Compared to what you bought the transformation is amazing well done sir.

Very nice. The brick coloured path you have Mike, what is it those small bricks? I have thought about paving in my place just not got round to it. When i was in nepal the Temple district in Patan in KTM was completely bricked, what i like was the way they weared with the foot traffic

Actually Mike, most of the big ish Builder Merchants have a Garden section with Mowers, strimmers etc - i would go with Airports advice on the Honda.

I have only about 400 m2 of lawn so use a Black and Decker electric mower. Works a charm.
In your case, go with Honda. Makita is also good.
Global House has a good selection of mowers.

Looks outstanding. Green makes a yard look so much nicer and comfortable.

Things take off quickly and establish themselves nicely in the tropics.

The old couple and there helper are still here. There spending the night out in the garage to make sure the grass gets enough water. These guys really do a great job we’ve had them put in several trees before.

I just got the helper in trouble for giving giving him a coffee. He’s laying down in the garage now.

Thanks for all the compliments we’re really happy with the results. Like mentioned all we have to do now is keep it alive.

Honda lawn mowers/products are not as easy to buy as I initially expected when I started looking, I'm guessing they don't deal with the bigger merchants? Do-Home usually have a dedicated Honda products stand & then they have some smaller distributors, there out there but not as easy to find as you would expect.

We had our wall contractor do that sidewalk. It’s just the standard small bricks laid on sand flat with a larger block boarder. It was really pretty cheap to do. We’re hoping it gets moss and stuff growing on it like the old gardens and places you see around.

Sounds good. I did the outline with spray paint to get the shape we wanted.

Good reliable gardeners are hard to find here. Suggest you ask these folks if they would consider part time work. You certainly have a large job and some help may be in order.

You’re right about that. We’re going to have them come by a few times a month when we leave. There doing garden maintenance on a few other places in the village.

Curves intentionally implemented in straight routes - in order not to fall asleep - before reaching the destination...

A week on and many thousands of gallons of water the grass lives on. It has already put down little roots.







We’re training up a local lady to take over the watering and general cleanup for when we head home next week. And luckily my lawnmower problem is temporarily solved as we’re going to have the couple that put down the sod come and cut the grass and do general gardening.

Bit of an update. Never did track down any seed which is just as well. Keeping the sod watered was hard enough.

The grass seems to be doing well. We have a local guy taking care of it for us. I think it will really take off when it starts raining.
