Not seen 'Monty' (the Monitor) for a few days. Dogs don't spend that much time outside, and certainly not when there's rain about as its been for the past while.

Posted a couple of photos of a baby Reticulated Python on our back terrace a few weeks ago, well, M'Sahib has just spotted one tonight making its way along a border. Could be the same one, though this seems slightly bigger. Night photo so not great quality.

^ Maybe it ate Monty and grew a bit?

We've had Burmese pythons in our garden before, but never a Reticulated to my knowledge. They are beautiful snakes but I've read that Reticulated pythons are a lot more agressive than Burmese.

Wouldn't you, Nev? I certainly would... I'm married.

The male should be on the back of the female as per traditional style, but in this case I was wondering if it was two males. The female should be full of spawn and way bigger than the male but these both appeared to be the same size. Once these males get randy they'll jump on anything and I've seen them latched on the backs of goldfish before.

An update on our 'Feral Fighter', here rather than gatecrashing Mendip's excellent 'Anna the dog' thread any further.

M'Sahib just been to our vet, checking on 'Mooky' (what I call her) after her sterilisation this morning. Apparently still slightly groggy, but otherwise OK.

M'Sahib took a tin of the tuna we have been feeding her for when she's able to eat again. In a cage at the vets.

^ PAG, you're more than welcome to include this in Anna's thread...in fact I hope you do... it's all related and with the same goal in mind.

That's good news about Mooky, so long as they start eating everything should be OK.

Incidentally, tins of tuna are also my go-to food to get a sick dog eating again.

I climbed over the fence to go for a wander and explore the neighbouring reserve land and found this swimming hole

Also a neolithic stone dwelling which probably dates back 60,000 years to when homo sapiens first rocked up down under

...might make a top dogging spot (GPS coordinates noted)

Another pond but I might need my snorkel to explore this one

Our jungle pond has a nice layer of green this week
A medium-size water monitor moved in recently, about 1.2-1.5m, rarely seen around here, unsure on its food supply though hoping ginger cat is an option - the one that repeatedly craps in our rock garden.

Maybe here to complain about the state of the pond... today's frog, again loitering around our shoes. Since returned, flying frog, over the wall
