I've got around 30 council workers in my garden at the moment who are laying concrete and I have counted 12 cement mixer trucks already and they are only half way done.

I sure like these birds and the calls they make. Appears we have a mating pair setting up camp in my big tree by the pool. Shutree or Nev probably knows the name.

The Monstera tree has fruited for the 2nd year in a row.

    What's in your garden?-img_20230118_205745-jpg

Maybe it will become an annual moveable feast.

There are 12 fruits this year.

Those are the ones you only see as an identical pair floating around the field of vision.

I thought they were all religious.

I got another 13 germinations of the Suriname cherries so I now have 58 seedlings

This caused me to run out of potting receptacles and forced me reluctantly to repurpose my RECTUMBLER party cups....

    What's in your garden?-img_20230121_183603-jpg

So the bad news guys is that the RECTUMBLER party is postponed until further notice. That was going to be a real eye-opener of a party too, damn!

My anthracnose blighted mango tree has not been bewitched back to health by the Virgin Mary yet. 3 years ago I got 200 mangoes. 2 years ago I got 150 mangoes. Last year I got 4 mangoes and this year I am getting.... 1 mango. Can you spot it...

I planted the sprouted Swamp Lily bulbs and went down to the swamp lily mother plant and harvested 5 more bulbs. They are a funny shape.

Threw some orange seeds in the planters near where we eat.
and a few weeks later, I think because I don't remember when I threw them.
Should be having sweet oranges soon
Made sure to include part of my foot in the picture not to be outdone by Mendip.

^ Ya know BB, That's almost exactly how my wife got stung by a Scorpion. Foot next to a planter, she bumped it some how and out it came and BAM. I'll stick with shoes albeit my Vans Era shoes are on their last leg

Last leg on these fellas after 2+ years, but...no worries.

    New set of treads waiting....

    Good Luck on the Oranges.

I gotta say, my wife has extremely nice feet and the scorpions in these parts have no respect.

    Nice foot!

I may be wrong BB but I think that you need to graft orange trees, same as lemons and limes. The plants from seeds revert back to a wild state with small, hard fruit that aren't edible.

I planted a couple of durian seeds nearly 8 weeks ago and they've both just started to germinate. I don't really know why I do this as we've run out of space for any more trees and we've never had success with durian trees anyway. I think that Korat gets too hot in the hot season and too cold in the cold season for durian. It's usually the temperature extremes that limit the flora.

I concur Mendy. You have to graft fruit trees. I think the only one you might get away with is an avocado tree but I have heard it's really only luck.

When I was a kid we use to graft our Pippen and Washington apple and navel orange trees. Only way it would work to become productive fruit bearing trees.

Durian aren't too big and you can prune then

I've seen quite a few grown around the Khao Yai area.

They like free draining soil and don't like their feet too wet. The family around Chanthaburi who grow them commercially always plant then on big mounds of soil and shade the young trees by planting alongside more mature trees which will eventually get removed.

I have tried 3 Durian trees with wife. As Mike said. Have to have high mounds for good drain off. We have 1 hanging in there. We have it covered with coconut palms.

Personally ICGAF if it lives or dies. I can't stand the crap.

Oh crap, I guess I should give up waiting for those delicious oranges.
Or are you saying this to get back at me, because you are jealous of my very attractive foot?

Thanks gentlemen, the wife has a lime tree that we've grown from a seed. Tomorrow she's going to ask about grafting it to another tree.

Emperor mandarins and grapefruit grow true to type from seed, or so I read last week. Don't know why they are the only ones though.
