I've got these 2 "Mini Turkeys" together with a few Chabo or Bantam chickens and wonder if anyone knows their real name or has any info on them. Thanks for your reply.

When I first came here to the village 12 year ago Guinea Fowl were everywhere. Haven't seen any for 10 years or so now. Nice eggs.
Got me thinking now. May be I'll try rear some if I can find a source.

I really like these birds. Saw them the other day at a friends farm.
Guinea fowl are originally from Africa.
Edible but a smaller frame than the chicken.
Really pretty feathers on these birds.
Not always so friendly towards chickens when kept near each other but fantastic for getting rid of ticks and other unpleasant bugs.
^Good to know.
...indeed, Bob. Slight argument could be made as to a co-originality of domesticated chooks with the ancient Malay. Siamese-Malay.
As to Wasabi's comment - a particular breed[s] of ancient Galliformes/Guinea is endemic to Africa, yet not ever introduced or diffused to Asia. There are a number of familiar distant related cousins, of this broader type, that are very indigenous to SE Asia and southern China.
