    Honda Lawnmower

I have purchased 2 lawnmowers over the last year, one electric which lasted 5 cuttings then burned out. Homepro kept it 7 weeks to repair it then gave it back and it lasted 2 cuttings and burned out again. I have a small lawn less than 100 square meters and don't over work the machine? I then purchased a new NashL gas unit which lasted 5 minutes then stopped in spite of good fuel and oil, we returned this to Ubon Do All after 1 week and they tried and could not get the unit working. I want to get a simple Honda push mower with no drive to the wheels for simplicity but can't find a supplier? In my town the Honda dealer wants to make me a unit on a different frame but use a Honda engine?
Honda has a well designed push mower model HRR216PKA with mulch settings, rear bagger etc - can anyone direct me to a Honda supplier who can provide one?

Get a goat, eats grass and as it slows can make delicious curry while the kids do the work

Incorrect -Try to find a Somchai who has a lawnmower in these parts. I would gladly pay to have a gardener come in and do it but no luck getting the grass cut properly. The best they can do is come in with a brush cutter and wack the grass - sorry but that looks terrible IMO.
Buying a chinese gas lawnmower is guaranteed to cause frustration - that is why I want a quality Honda as is my car and motorbike.

I think I will forget about the goat too and I love curry. The problem is the dogs would eat him first?

Just go to your local builders merchant/tool supplier and he will order you one. That's how I get mine.

I had contacted Honda Thailand Power Equipment division who claim they only sell the one high priced lawnmower with power drive to the wheels. Honda (Japan)makes about 6 different models but apparently only one can be sold in Thailand???
    Nothing surprises me here anymore.

That is correct. I wanted the mulching version because my grassed area is over 1 Rai and it's too much to keep stopping to empty the collection bag. I could only buy the one machine they sell.

Saw a Honda mower in Global House in Roiet. Normal push. Was around 22k baht I believe. Was couple years back so maybe only power drive available now.

I have fairly small turf area and cut it every couple weeks. Use a Black and Decker electric I purchased 7 years back. No probs with it at all.

You can get push lawnmowers here by various manufacturers with Honda engines. But a 100% Honda made one only comes with power drive. That's my finding as I had to buy one.

Jeez Pragmatic I wish you would have told me that originally!!! I spent over a day phoning and emailing various dealers and Honda Thailand? I too wanted the mulch feature and genuine Honda parts. I must be a skeptic because I couldn't take the local dealers word but he was indeed correct.
In most countries you can phone a dealer and get the model requested - not so in Thailand.

Because the numpties can't figure out the differences between models. Best keep things basic when selling, buying here.

Gerry53, my missus keeps telling me to get a Thai to cut my grass but there's no way I'd let a village Joe go anywhere near my power driven lawnmower, unless I wanted him to fcuk it up. With the area I have to do every week for 6 months of the year I just can't bring myself to let them do it for me.

I agree with you Pragmatic and good equipment is very expensive here. I have a decent local who will do labor jobs but he won't operate any power equipment because he had a bad incident when he was younger. Yet I see he has all 10 fingers and toes???

gerry53.Have a look at the Lazada Thailand web site.

Inthe outdoor and gardening section.... power tools and lawnmowers they show 2 lawn mowers.

Honda model FIHA333 NOW baht 21500 down from 29500.

Husquvarna model LC19 NOW baht 16900 down from 21500.

need to check out further re warranty etc. The Honda most likely can be easily
repaired as most repair shops know Honda workings. The Husquvarna is again a top brand.
I have Asatec 6hp from Thaiwatsadu cost 9900 and happy with its performance, onlt drawback is the motor control is hand held and so the engine has to be turned off to empty the collecting bag. bit of a buggar when mowing for a couple of hours.

Agree about the local labour. Gave them away using my power equipment as they always broke it.

    Trust this helps.

Thanks for the reply Hawkeye and I will look at the Lazada website but I had already ordered and picked up my Honda mower today. It had the same Honda engine I wanted but was built on a different frame. The dealer did a reasonable job with the height adjustment mechanism and rear bagger so for 12,500 baht it was OK and he is from my city and backs it with a 2 year warranty (seldom needed on a Honda engine).
I will miss the Honda mulching feature though.
