    Argan Seeds to swap

    Hi all,

My dad with his 83 yrs of age is a garden fanatic as I am. He is spending most of his time and pension money in Morocco.
He managed to pinch about 30 Argan tree seeds and brought me them to the port as we came in.
I want only a few for a try and willing to swap some for avocado cuttings. Sure interesting for people that have dry areas but as seen in the www, also Argan trees demand some water.
As I said, no guarantee but if they grow you have some unique trees in Thailand that may be nobody else has.
In the www you can also find how to grow Argan trees and if they bearing fruit you can earn a golden nose with the oil. The seeds have not to go though a goats digestics to produce oil

Do you still have argan seeds available? I'd like to try growing some.

    Interesting.
The seeds/nuts from the fruit seem to be valued for the oils and properties.
    Sustain drought well.

''The fruit takes over a year to mature, ripening in June to July of the following year.''

would any animals eat them first ?

It was the old process to make argan oil. The locals collected the goat crap, cleaned the seeds out and made argan oil out of it..
Nowadays they skip the goats digestion in the process..

@108 The seeds are all gone and some my wife brought underground.. in case there are more than two coming up I can pinch a tree sapling of her.

I had two coming up and just a bit too much water killed them. A swiss guy in Pattaya who opens next year a botanical garden had more success in pots. But he told me they won't be growing anywhere in LOS as long they are not in a well drainde very deep pot.

he is just getting some pots made especially for the argan trees. So it seem not to be easy keeping them alive.
