Perhaps we spend the day there and continue the rest of the way next day. Hive you, or anyone else ever visited and stayed there?
We went there during our 2010-11 year in Sa Kaeo. According to their site, the park is home to an estimated 400 species of butterflies, May to July is the best time for butterfly watching.

Butterfly Watching season at Pang Sida National Park

The rainy season is when our forests are at their freshest and greenest, and it’s also when many different species of butterfly reach the peak of their numbers. So from June until Jul 31, Sa Kaeo attracts eco-tourists to Pang Sida National Park with the promise of “Butterfly Watching at Pang Sida.”

Visitors can take a workshop on how to photograph the winged wonders then enter their works in a most beautiful butterfly contest, peruse a trade fair and partake in a variety of other eco-tourism activities.

It’s also a great time to visit the famous Pang Sida waterfall.

A couple of old threads; unfortunately most pics have gone

    from the top:

ISO 400 f7.1 1/800: pretty standard setting for me

ISO 3200 f14 1/320: lacewing was not in good lighting and not side on and very close hence the high f stop and high ISO.

ISO 400 f9 1/320: Not fully side on and close so higher fstop

I take several pictures if I can and try and get as close as possible, increasing fstop to increase focus range and compensating with increased ISO to keep speed high enough for lens.

Saw this guy today as I was digging a new water line. Pretty large fella

It just left its cocoon as it was still stretching its wings out.

Apparently the best time to see them is Aug so you may be wasting your time if that's all you are going to see.

This might be the largest caterpillar I have ever seen. About 10 -12 cm long.
As I have noted before, the autofocus on my phone never wants to take a clear picture of these hairy caterpillars. I guess it is a part of their defence mechanism that helps disguise them from predators. (Research required.) This thing was as big as two of those Oleander hawk moth caterpillars we get. So far I haven't identified it. Surely it must be a monster moth. And what was it doing in my parking area? Why did it leave a perfectly good tree?

I'll put it down as some kind of lappet moth. I haven't found a picture anywhere that exactly matches this one.

A new visitor to my compost heaps, I think it is a Banded Marquis Bassarona teuta - Wikipedia (also called Euthalia teuta) but I am not certain with the underside markings. It may be a sub species or I could have mis-identified it.

Strong flyer, and not that worried about coming back after I got a little too close. Anyway, it's the first time I've seen one in my garden.

    EDIT:

Indeed, I did misidentify this butterfly. The upper markings aren't quite right and the underside was troubling so I had another look through the references.

It is in fact a Black Rajah Charaxes solon - Wikipedia

It's still a first for my garden though.

This large Birdwing (?) passed through the garden. It didn't stay still for a moment.

There are many butterflies around at the moment, mostly the usual suspects. This is an unusual visitor.

It's all a bit quiet in the garden at the moment, very few butterflies around. The other night the dog started barking, the bark she uses for snakes and scorpions so I went to check and found this fat thing squirming around on the grass. About 5cm long, it looked really alien wriggling about in the grass so I moved it out for a better look.

    Thai Butterfly Photos-moth1-jpg

It climbed a post and it became a bit clearer what it was. Such tiny wings on a fat body.

    Thai Butterfly Photos-moth2-png

A short while later and its wings were almost ready. Not strictly a butterfly, a Death's head hawkmoth, I think.
