^ I had quite a bit of difficulty deciding on which species of silverline I have photos of. I decided to play safe and only show the one I had of both the UN and UP where the female differs.

However, after seeing your photo and a little more digging I see there is a difference in the UN as well between the two, namely that the Club has a black edging of the silver streaks and the long-branded has a reddish-brown edging.
Based on this, and the longer extension of the orange spot your photo is indeed of a Club and mine is a long-branded.

Now I have to check the other photos I took to see if I have a Club amongst them as well. Thanks for posting that and making me go and dig deeper...

^ I had a quick check and this is a better example of the long-branded silverline:

You can see the difference between this one and the Club that birding posted much more clearly.

Good one Neverna keep them coming.

Top one looks like a Double-banded Blue Crow

The next a male Striped Blue Crow

Next both Double-banded and male Striped Blue Crows

The next looks like one of the Blue Tigers I think Dark Blue Tiger.

Last two look like Common Mormon.

I may be wrong as I am no expert.

Thanks, Birding. I was hoping that you and Troy could identify them for me as I have no idea what they are.

One small difference I can see between the last two photos is that in the last one, the butterflies have some orange and blue spots but the one in top third photo doesn't. I don't know if that's significant or just a variation within a species.

As I said I am no expert, the difference may be between male and female or they may be different species.

Agree with Birding, but some additional info on the bottom photo....
I think the bottom ones are females of the cyrus form rather than the romulus form that I have posted previously. That is, Papilio polytes f. cyrus, which looks more like the male than the f.romulus form, which mimics the Common Rose.

Can I ask a rough area where they were taken? The f.romulus is the more usual form where I am because the Common Rose is very common. Were they taken in Isaan or South of Bangkok?

Saraburi province at the Jet-kot waterfall. There were hundreds of butterflies. Those photos above were all taken within 20 metres of each other and within about an hour of each other.

There were other kinds of butterflies too but I didn't manage to get any photos of them.

Lighting was poor as the area is covered in trees so mostly I was on a high ISO (up to 3200) so picture quality isn't so good.

^^^ I don't think the bottom photo is any of the Rajah but a Wizard instead. Do you have a photo showing the apex of the forewing more clearly or one of the underside? The black border below the dots on the hindwing, together with the large hindwin 'tooth' suggest Wizard rather than Rajah and the dark border and streak at the top of the forewing border towards the centre suggests a male. There are two subspecies: Rhinopalpa polynice birmana and Rhinopalpa polynice eudoxia. I wouldn't like to say which one it is without seeing the underside and more detail of the location but it's a nice find.

Hi butterfly people, I'm not really into butterflies, but had a visit this week from a butterfly expert and not the hobby type.

Long story, started with a Facebook butterfly photo the wife posted, got me a bit interested as the guy couldn't ID some of the butterflies.

Been on line looking a Thai, SEA butterfly photo's, but can't seem to find a site that has a large data base, any suggestions.

Thanks in advance for any tips.
