Chicken shit for Cassava --good value or not ?

Here in Chaiyaphum the locals seem to use a lot of chicken shit ---a mixture of droppings and rice husks I believe on the fields prior to planting cassava
A large truck load is 13000 baht

Whilst I can understand it may improve soil structure a bit I wonder if its good value --would it be better to spend more money on chemical fertilizer for example

    Advice would be much appreciated

I've just finished planting 8 rai, nearly killed me.
Plow the shit in and fertilize a few weeks after planting, if done properly, in today's prices about 12,000 Baht a rai.

Do you have a chopping machine[s] a lot to do by hand. Jim
