I will let you know once sold, sugar cane is a good cash crop, and is going up and little work, rubber has had its day and requires a lot of work for now little return, and open your eyes they are cutting down rubber every where, even you stated truck loads of rubber lumber going down the road, sugar is far better money earner than casava. but you need good soil for it to grow well.
Maybe his wife is getting the money for the rubber lumber , he sounds like he's one hell of a good hearted guy .Quote:

Big storm Friday night, power came back an hour or so ago, lost 21 trees so far, 2 more plantations to check, yet.
Seems it's always the biggest and best trees that fall, no pulling them back up, tap root snapped ground level.

Could you not plant a couple of rows of say eucalyptus trees around the plantation to offer protection against high winds?

Touch wood (excuse the pun), we've been ok this year with no trees blown over, or snapped in half. As Jim says, its the big tall trees with huge canopy that suffer, and it's always like a mini localised tornado. A few years ago, when we had the worst storms i've witnessed up here, we lost maybe 10 trees, a mile or so away, whole plantations were gone, mostly snapped off 1.5m off the ground. Devastating for the owners...

There is a law already which covers the amount of Sor Por Kor land one can have in a persons name and that being 20 Rai. In a family name it is 25 Rai.

Regarding land/property issues, the provincial and even Amphoe laws are dominantly in place......and certainly will vary, wishy-washy, regarding situation and locale.
