I watched an episode of a maths series online (forgot what it's called, dammit, it was good) where they got a special roll of paper, a special printer, and printed out pi to 1,000,000 digits. They rolled it out on a disused runway and studied it for patterns. They came across a few intersting things, but nobody could discern any repetition aside from a few small minor coincidental ones. In fact, it was these few anomalies that gave a "marker" to look for longer series before repetition.Quote:
