^I was always taught that with deep puncture wounds, leave the weapon alone. The penetrating weapon keeps it from bleeding. If you pull it out, you open the wound and they start bleeding out. But I'm not a doctor. Just what I recall from medic training.

Don't even wriggle the weapon if possible.
Most of the veins and arteries are usually just nicked, so retain elasticity and immediately try to heal up and keep the blood going the right way.
Removing the weapon's best done where control of blood loss (especially internal) can be handled on removal.
It's also easier to pack 'em by slinging the fork over your shoulder...Heh...Quote:
