It is quite clear that the crash mat does not get split, nor does his helmet come off. The white flash to the right is light reflecting off the flexible barrier as the bike hits it, ballooning it out to the right. And you can see clearly that his helmet stays on after the bike pushes down on it as it goes over. It doesn't push down as slightly as it seems, either. He may have got broken or fractured neck vertebrae from that.

You could be right, not sure. You can see there's a join in the crash-mat covering (not a split, sorry, wrong word) which is still visible after the crash. Interesting optical illusion, anyway.Quote:
