A supermarket in San Jose del Cabo was ransacked on Monday as Tropical Storm Odile ground its way up Mexico's Baja California peninsula, gradually losing strength after forcing the evacuation of thousands and smashing shops open to looters in the popular tourist area.

Pharmacies, electronics shops and convenience stores were among businesses hit by looters before police restored order on streets strewn with shattered glass from broken windows, said local shop worker Cristina Osuna, 31.

Pennsylvania State Police lined the streets outside St. Peters' Cathedral in Scranton, Pa., on Thursday, as the casket carrying slain Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Cpl. Bryon Dickson, 38, was carried from the Cathedral after his funeral service.

His suspected killer, Eric Matthew Frein, 31, remains at large, possibly holed up in the woods with high-powered rifles. A military re-enactor with anti-government and anti-police leanings, Frein likely assumed the role of a Serbian soldier for his ambush, authorities said.

These zebras are certainly earning their stripes - battling through thousands of wildebeest to cross one of the Serengeti's fast flowing rivers. The annual migration sees wildebeest move across the plains in search of fresh grazing opportunities. As they move they must attempt to travel across these frantic water crossings. But as they did - a smaller group of around 10 zebra were also attempting to cross which left them fighting to make their way through the herd.

An unlucky leopard got more than it bargained for after trying to catch and eat a honey badger. Pictured brawling with the badger, the leopard soon found out this was one animal that wouldnt go down without a fight. After spotting the badger from a distance, the leopard managed to rush down inside its burrow and drag it outside for what it thought was going to be an easy meal. But despite catching its prey by the neck, the tough mammal managed to wriggle free thanks to its specially adapted, loose skin

Three of Saturn's moons have been photographed by the Cassini spacecraft's narrow-angle camera. As the largest of the three, Tethys (C) is round and has a variety of terrains across its surface. Hyperion (L, top) is the 'wild one' with a chaotic spin, and Prometheus (L, bottom) is a tiny moon that busies itself sculpting the F ring. The surface of Tethys is 1,062 km across, Hyperion 270 km across, and Prometheus 86 km across. In this picture the view looks toward the sunlit side of the rings from about one degree above the ring-plane. The view was acquired at a distance of approximately 1.9 million kilometers from Tethys and at a Sun-Tethys-spacecraft, or phase, angle of 22 degrees. The Cassini-Huygens mission is a cooperative project of Nasa, the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI).

Secretary of State John Kerry testified in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee on Wednesday, flanked by anti-war protesters from the group Code Pink. This marked the second instance during the ISIS hearings in which members of Code Pink waved signs with slogans opposing military action.

Kerry engaged with the protestors, citing his own opposition to the Vietnam War.

"That’s how I first testified in front of this country in 1971. I spent two years protesting a policy, so I respect the right of CodePink to protest and use that right." The protestors remained seated holding their signs for the remainder of the hearing

Workers prepare to lift an 8-metre (25-foot) cast-bronze sculpture of an embracing sailor and nurse outside the Caen Memorial in Normandy, France. The sculpture titled Unconditional Surrender by Seward Johnson is based on a U.S. Navy photographer's black-and-white snapshot taken on Aug. 15, 1945, according to the Sculpture Foundation, a U.S.-based nonprofit that owns the work. It also resembles a famous photograph taken by Life magazine Alfred Eisenstaedt on that day. The sculpture is to spend a year outside the Caen Memorial, a museum focusing on World War II.

Mods, the absence of Mr. Lick's regular and consistence updating of this outstanding thread is somewhat disconcerting...

It's been 10-12 days since any peep.

I know that he has had off-n-on medical issues for the last few months.
    Perhaps, he's taking a respite.

An update as to his whereabouts would be appreciated.

    Hope you are well, Lick.
