The aptly named the River Cafe in Chongqing, China, has come up with an ingenious way of attracting customers. Taking advantage of a nearby stream, the owners have set up dozens of tables straight in the water, offering patrons a cool escape from the heat. With summer temperatures reaching over 40 degrees Celsius, the Chinese are always looking for new and enjoyable ways to cool off. The River Cafe is inviting locals and tourists to take off their shoes and grab a seat in the water. The pop-up restaurant now has more tables in the stream than on land and can seat up to 300 people at a time.

Thousands of fishing boats sail out after the end of a three-month fishing ban in Zhoushan, eastern China's Zhejiang Province. Since 1994, China has been imposing a hot season moratorium in the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea. This moratorium affects 120,000 fishing vessels and one million fishermen. During this period, trawling and sailing stake net fishing are banned, and set nets are closed for at least two months in all marine areas.
