Harry Redknapp is close to taking over at Queens Park Rangers and admits it will be his toughest job in management.

The west London club started talks with Redknapp on Friday afternoon, just hours after Mark Hughes was sacked.

"I want it to happen, so it shouldn't be that difficult a deal to do," Redknapp told BBC Sport.

"It's going to be a tough job but it's a challenge. When you've only got four points at this stage of the season it couldn't get any harder than that."

QPR are bottom of the Premier League table, without a win in their opening 12 games.

They are four points adrift of 19th place - the same position Tottenham were in when Redknapp took charge at White Hart Lane in October 2008.
“It's a very similar club (to Portsmouth) in many ways - small stadium and fantastic supporters who can make all the difference”
    Harry Redknapp

The 65-year-old said he was eager to complete his move to QPR and attend their Premier League game against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Thousands of protesters gathered near parliament in Thailand's capital, Bangkok, on Saturday, demanding the ouster of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.
AP reported: The rally was mostly peaceful in its early stages. Police, however, fired tear gas to disperse between 50 to 100 people who tried to break through a line of concrete barricades erected on a street near the protest site.

The demonstration underscores the still-simmering political divisions that have split the country since the army toppled Yingluck's brother Thaksin Shinawatra in a 2006 military coup

Ricky Hatton has announced his retirement from boxing following his loss to Vyacheslav Senchenko in his comeback fight in Manchester.

Hatton, 34, had not fought since 2009, but his return to the ring on Saturday ended with a ninth-round stoppage.

"I needed one more fight to see if I had still got it - and I haven't," he said. "I couldn't have done any better.

"A fighter knows and I know it isn't there any more. I have got to be a man and say it is the end of Ricky Hatton."

Hatton announced his return to the ring in September, 14 months after initially calling time on his career.

His opponent Senchenko, while a year older, had only one defeat on his record and proved a difficult opponent in front of 20,000 fans at the Manchester Arena.

Hatton started brightly and fought aggressively, but tired as his defences weakened.

A body shot to his ribs in the ninth ended the fight, and Hatton left the ring in tears after the fight.

"I got in the best shape I possibly could but if I hadn't been hit with that body shot I would have just scraped over the line," he admitted.

"It's too many hard fights, I've burned the candle at both ends, I've put my body through the mire in and out of the ring."

Ukrainians light candles next to a monument to victims of the Great Famine in Kiev on Nov. 24, 2012. The dreadful famine that engulfed Ukraine, the northern Caucasus, and the lower Volga River area in 1932-1933 was the result of Joseph Stalin's policy of forced collectivization. More than five million Ukrainians were killed in the famine.

Each year during Ashoura, Shiite Muslim men & boys whip their backs with chains and cut their heads with knives, drenching themselves in blood to mourn the loss of one of the faith's most revered figures, Imam Hussein, a grandson of the Prophet Mohammad, who was killed in the 7th century battle of Kerbala.

    Protests in Egypt

Protests erupt across Egypt after Mohamed Morsi issues a decree granting himself extra powers. The decree orders the retrial of former president Hosni Mubarak, officials and security force members accused of killings during the country's revolution. It also exempts all of Morsi's decisions from legal challenge until a new parliament is elected

Brazil dismisses officials over corruption allegations

President Rousseff dismissed all those accused of taking part in the influence peddling ring

Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has dismissed a number of senior officials accused of involvement in the latest corruption scandal to hit the government.

Among those sacked are Rosemary de Noronha, who heads the regional office of the presidency in Brazil's largest city, Sao Paulo, and Deputy Attorney General, Jose Weber Holanda.

The officials are accused of influence peddling, fraud and corruption.
    They have not yet commented.

The dismissals come as another set of former government officials is being sentenced in an even larger corruption scandal, known as "Mensalao", or Big Monthly Allowance.

The BBC's Gary Duffy in Sao Paulo says that this latest police investigation apparently began after an official who had received a substantial bribe had second thoughts and alerted the authorities

Mexico arrests man on FBI 10 most wanted list

Joe Luis Saenz is believed to have been working for a Mexican drug cartel

Mexican police say they have captured one of the FBI's top 10 most wanted fugitives, sought on charges of murder, rape and kidnapping.

Joe Luis Saenz, a US national, was held in the western city of Guadalajara.

The 37-year-old is alleged to have shot dead two rival gang members in Los Angeles in 1998 and later that year raped and murdered his ex-girlfriend.

The FBI had been offering up to $100,000 (£62,400) for information leading to his arrest.

Born in California, Mr Saenz also suspected of murdering a fourth victim in Los Angeles County in 2008.

He is believed to have been working for a Mexican drug cartel and had a number of aliases.

Child jockeys race their horses at a racetrack outside Bima, Indonesia, Nov. 17.

Dozens of child jockeys, some as young as eight-years-old take part in the races. Involving nearly 600 horses they take place around a dusty, oval track of 1,400 meters (nearly one mile). The reward for the winner is a handful of cash for his family and glory for the jockey. The grand prize is one million rupiah ($100).

Those who win their groups get two cows. The chairman of the races' organizing team, Hajji Sukri, denies that there is any danger to the children saying they are all skillful riders and none have been killed or seriously hurt.
