Fox was ambushed and killed by a hit-and-run suspect whom he and his K-9 partner, Nick, were pursuing on foot on Sept. 13 in New Hanover, Penn. Fox, a U.S. Marine who served two tours of duty in Iraq, died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
The suspect, Andrew Charles Thomas, 44, of Lower Merion, committed suicide, shooting himself in the chest, according to the county coroner’s office
