Europa League matchday one
The start of the PAOK v Tottenham match is a pretty even, if uneventful, affair but things get interesting around the half hour mark when Spurs' Harry Kane goes down in the penalty area after getting in a tangle with Pablo Contreras. However the referee doesn't point to the spot, instead he books the young forward for simulation, aka: diving
Two minutes later the Serbian referee does point to the spot after Carlo Cudicini drags down Athanasiadis. PAOK's Lino sends the Spurs keeper the wrong way and strokes the ball into the net. However the ref makes him take the penalty again after deciding that at least one home player had entered the box. Lino has a change of mind and hits the retake the other way but it's a poor strike and goes wide, much to Cudicini's relief

Atlético Madrid's Diego Godin, left, and Gabi conspire to rob Celtic's James Forrest. The Bhoys faced an uphill struggle after going behind to a Falcao goal after only three minutes
Despite that Celtic put in a good performance but unfortunately the shot count was Atlético 11, Celtic 0. One of those shots came from Diego Ribas Da Cunha in the 68th minute, when he finished smartly from a pullback. The game finished 2-0
