A huge boulder smashed through the side of a house after falling from a lorry in Cenxi, southern China's Guangxi Province. Home owner Wu Junhuang said he was having lunch with his wife on the 2nd floor when suddenly the house shook and there was a loud cracking sound. 'I and my wife ran down and saw a giant rock embedded in my sitting room wall.' The giant rock was from a passing lorry, which was transporting it to a stone materials factory in Yunnan Province. However, due to the bumpy road and poorly fastened restraints the rock tumbled off the lorry and into the wall of the house. Police detained the lorry and the driver will now have to compensate Mr Wu for the damage

A cargo plane crashed into a commercial building in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, shortly after taking off from the city's main airport on Wednesday and the four crew members on board were feared dead, the Kenyan Airports Authority (KAA) said.

Hurricane Arthur, the first named storm of the Atlantic season, offered a breathtaking view — from a safe distance.
NASA astronaut Reid Wiseman tweeted this image taken aboard the International Space Station around 9:30 a.m. EDT on Friday July 4 as the ISS flew 260 miles directly over the storm, which was moving northeast away from the outer banks of North Carolina.

It was the latest of several dramatic images Wiseman has shared from space through Twitter. In addition to images of Arthur, he recently tweeted a short video of a lightning storm over Houston.

Rescuers labored with pickaxes and shovels to dig out 11 miners trapped by a landslide at an illegal gold mine in southern Honduras, and are close to reaching three of the workers, officials said on Thursday.
The workers were trapped when the entrance of the mine in San Juan Arriba collapsed on Wednesday. Officials said the mine, 110 km (70 miles) south of the capital Tegucigalpa, had been ordered to close a few months ago because it was unsafe.
Rescue workers said they had made contact with three of the workers and were close to freeing them, though eight are still missing and it was unclear whether they were alive
