Man Utd v Crawley Town FA Cup 5th Round

Crawley fans arrive at Old Trafford in good spirits

The Crawley players on the pitch before the game trying to take in the size of the stadium

Anderson and Sergio Torres tussle in the middle of the park

Anders Lindegaard easily intercepts a cross before it gets to Matt Tubbs (who incidentally played several seasons for my home team, Salisbury FC prior to joining Crawley at the beginning of this season. £70,000 i believe was the transfer fee and as the leagues top scorer it looks like they got a bit of a bargain).

The cameras aren't going near Alex Ferguson and given his expression it's probably a wise move. You wouldn't have thought his team were 1-0 courtesy of a Brown goal

Wayne Looney comes on at half-time

Matt Tubbs must have been watching Wayne Rooney but unfortunately his overhead effort narrowly misses the target

A shot goes narrowly wide for the Crawley lads

Tubbsy having another shot at goal, this time over the bar

Deep in injury-time there's nearly a fairytale finish when Richard Brodie puts a looping header back across the United goal and their keeper Lindegaard is flapping, but unfortunately his header comes back off the United bar. A lucky escape for the home side

Richard Brodie and team-mates applaud their fans after the game

As does the manager Steve Evans

More Crawley players celebrate with the fans at the end. David Hunt got the first prize in the shirt swapping stakes by getting Wayne Rooney's

Crawley players celebrate at the end in front of their fans with captain and man of the match Pablo Mills taking centre stage. The non-league side and their fans did themselves proud

The Wigan of George Orwell - Pictures taken in 1939

Women attending an evening class in embroidery and needlework

The original caption read: THE FACES OF WIGAN'S WORKERS – Men Whose Fate is Linked with Coal and Cotton. Early in the 19th century their great-grandfathers went down to the pits and their women found work in the mills. Today, 10 out of 15 mills, 17 out of 40 pits, are closed. In a town of 85,000 people, 9,500 men and women are unemployed. But the man in the pub is still friendly, still confident that pits and mills will open again - perhaps after the war

The caption on a variant of this picture read: The Boy Who Wants to be a Miner. His father and his grandfather were miners. It's his ambition to be a miner, too. He does not read the Ministry of Labour statistics of unemployment. He does not know how many pits have been closed. He does not even know that, of 19 houses in Greenhough Row, where he lives, often only four families have work

A woman looks longingly at the array of bread and cakes in the window of a baker's shop

A group of men at the Labour Exchange

A child sits on her mother's lap to drink, in a poor area

A pigeon fancier with his racing pigeons

The original Picture Post caption read: Shelters Against the Bombs... ARP [Air Raid Precautions] trenches are being dug in the areas where slum clearance is in progress. They will be covered with earth, on which grass, for playgrounds, will be sown

And Shelters Against the Rain. He is 27. He is a miner by profession; but he has been nine years out of work. He lives in the Hardybutts - a row of slum houses which are to be replaced by council houses More than 2,000 council houses have been built; but there are still slums

The original Picture Post caption read: The Men Who Stand and Wait. Our cameraman photographed these Wiganers standing outside a Labour Exchange. The authorities asked to have all pictures left with them to be checked up. When the batch was forwarded on to us, this and other pictures on these pages were missing. They were considered unsuitable. We made new prints of some of those missing pictures

    The Art of Drew Struzan

Having Drew Struzen create the poster art for your movie is as close as you can get to a mark of bank-busting Hollywood success. Struzan has provided images for the Indiana Jones films, Blade Runner, Pan's Labyrinth and Star Wars among others. A documentary film about his work, 'Drew, the man behind the poster' is due this year while a new book collates some of his best pieces.

Leyton Orient v Arsenal - FA Cup 5th Round - Winners to meet Man Utd

Much excitement as the Orient have been enjoying a good run of form as late.

Arsenal clearly not at full strength with the reserve team captain starting the game

Rosicky (7) puts the Gunners ahead in the 53rd minute with a deft header

With the game entering the 89th minute Jonathan Tehoue shoots for goal to level the scores and send the O's fans delirious, especially Barry Hearn.

Following their fine equaliser it appears that they are on the verge of making an important substitution

The final whistle and the O's are set for a return game at the Emirates Stadium.

A richly deserved reward if i might say

For the first time in La Liga's history a goalkeeper has scored from open play. Depotivo's keeper, Dani Aranzubia heads the ball into the net from a corner in the 95th minute. It took the commentator a full 4 minutes to complete his 'Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaa aaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllaaaaa!!
The equaliser also probably saved the manager from the sack as the team had lost 5 out of their last 7 games.
