Dougal - give me the numbers, and I will bet on them. I have made no pact with the Devil, so if he comes around looking for trouble he will get his ass kicked.

Split it 50-50 sound OK to you?

A nice piece of fiction, Dougal (not sarcastic). Your writing is engaging, the dialogue natural, and the ending has a real bite. Thank you for a good read.

Hey Dougal, you should try to find about short story competitions in England.
I have a friend who entered one in New Zealand and won!

His story has been published and it has done wonders for his self confidence. He is now writing a novel and I think publishers would be more inclined to look at it, now that he has had something published.

    Go for it!

^ That's fine, mate. I don't normally read works of fiction anyway.

Yours though, if true, was an interesting experience.

not a bad bump for you.
I'd green you except William deserves it more for giving you the idea that you copied.

    copying gets a red.

    Fascinating and intriguing story.

    So Dougal-
Have you heard from Luke since?
Did you go travelling as planned?
    Any more developments?

I think the ending is supposed to be ambiguous

Don't think the ambiguity is spoiled by that. If you sell your soul and go on a mission from lucifer you might sever all ties with your old life regardless.

    Anyway, great story. Cheers Dougal.

Nice tale. Almost believable with all the shiesters in Nana.

But the barmaid would have taken you for a ride if you had no idea how long you had been there or how much you had to drink.

    Wonderful story.

Ummm...is Noi still around and available?

'cause I am wondering what she got from Luke; wasn't looks, youth, money, erudition. Carnal expertise? Immunity to STDs? Long happy life for daughter? Revenge on her husband?
