Not sure about that, looks to me she'd fit right in with farang KSR brigade.

No it doesn't, one asks for a new election and others say Abhisit Ayhia.

They obviously know his parents then! Mr SAT and MRS HIER, I was quite surprised tonight, the local radio up here are playing some pretty nasty shit songs about AbhiSHIT!, I understand about 50%, and keep asking my son..."are they really saying this about Suthep?..and it seems it is true, I was surprised they weren't shut down!

I took the 15 foot plastic boat down to his grandmothers today, and it was launched and floated in the PING, and the kids were over the moon, on the way back, there was a huge bunch of locals getting into trucks, all bearing red flags, on there way to Chiang Mai....the place is beyond help!

Just loaded and watched it. The guy was part of a melee completely uninvolved with direct face to face confrontation, though with lots of noise in the background. Judging by the way that he fell, and that he was standing when the impact happened, the shot appears to have come from above. The only thing that marked him out from the rest of the crowd was that he was waving a flag. I've seen several videos today of areas that the military appear to have installed snipers in the upper levels of adjacent buildings to take out perceived ring leaders.

people are saying on other sites he was shot from above by sniper and targeted as a leader as holding a flag. Can't see that from the clip though. Seems peaceful tonight, Mrs says they will hold a funeral procession tomorrow around the city.

^obvious it was a sniper above w/high caliber round.

Some lads on TV are claiming it was a grenade from one of the reds firing it from behind.

more pics of the same place, same time a CM. CM did a very good job, so not much new :

    view from KS road

view of KS road : they used anything they could find to build the barricades, even massage school boards...

    the rocks thrown at soldiers

surprisingly very little collateral damages. a couple of public phones, a fewpublic signs and this shop window

the barricade protecting the red shirts (left)

the barricade protecting the red shirts (right)

    the shrines

different projectiles : rubber + live bullets, flattened bullets (look like coins), chili bags (??). The plastic cartridges are the kind the red shirts use in their home made guns.

even though the atmosphere was quite poignant, and no one really felt like talking much, this guy took a microphone and started exciting people. I felt he should just have shut up and left : there was emotion in the air, and I found it quite unsuitable to try to change it to anger, rather than mourning.

Pity you have to bring such bollox to a thread like this.

At the shrines just off Khao San there were about 20 thais to 2 or 3 westerners taking pics and looking. The RSs were showing off pieces of skull (all in Thai) and urging people (Thais) to take photos of it lying on top of a blood stained red shirt like a trophy to show off and media-ize.

At the other shrines it was more like 20 Thais to each westerner, where they had photo print outs of the victims with their head blown off on those same spots, on the ground willing people (all Thais) to take pictures.

Shame on you Noodles, and your gullible ways.

    near Democracy monument :

No APCs or hummers are gonna go anywhere now. Like CM, I had the clear feeling the reds are there to stay. They are under shock of course, and feel they should be somehow righted. But they also revel in showing the gory stuff to passers by, and tellings their legends of battle.
My take on this is that they will use these vehiles carcasses as barricades if the army tries to dislodge them again, and in the meantime will leave them there as a testimony to the injustice they feel.

    reaching out to Democracy.

One of the most poignant things I felt : the red crowd emotions are too strong for words. Many red shirts would hit a vehicle when they reached near it, with a stick, with their feet, with their bare hands. Sometimes they just write something. You could see they wouldnt want to talk ; they just feel too much.

gathering strenght to overturn the fucker. At this point it was real hot, there were more and more people gathering, the mikes were on air again, and I felt it was time for me to go.

I still spent an enjoyable 30-45 minutes talking with a red guy. We often came to the point of saying that the Thais must talk together, or it would happen again, and again.

He just said it would be hard to talk after that.

on the way back, I went along Ratchadam Noen, to the main stage near golden mountain, then Ratchadam Noen Klang. It was just too hot, so I didnt stop for pictures. Just scores of protesters resting under what little shadow they could find. Cliches such as scorching/blistering heat are understatements.

Quickly stopped next to the UN, where I'd heard the fight was intense for a few hours saturday afternoon.

camping along the UN fence. These tents are real heat traps, I can only admire the determination of these people, whom I have seen camping here one month, in these conditions : no beds, no intimacy, no decent showers/sanitation, unbearable heat throughout the days.

Quick glimpse on the concrete pavements : they have been put to contribution everywhere in the area.

    Interesting pics.

What was unexpected for me was the amount of Thais with their kids, getting them to pose in front of the carnage for pictures.
