Not sure where it is though- could be Klongtoey, or any number of slum areas.
Contrary to popular history, Thais & Burmese were the most intrically important factor towards overall labour regarding the 'famous' Japanese war bridge at Kanchanaburi over the Kwai River. Outside of being overlooked within in many historical circles, they were treated far worse than their European co-captives.
