https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...idence1895.jpg...by the late 1880's and into the 1890's , under HM King Chulalongkorn's reign, a broad provincial sub-administrative was developed throughout the kingdom with a whole circle of "appointed provincial governors" {almost always from extended loyal family members of royal/noble lineage} and applied civil servant underlings. With this package came a respective garrison of army troops - depending on locale. This expanded government/crown administrative body came about as to control the numerous "upcountry" uprisings, rebellions, and general discontent in the later part of the 19th-century, plus the growing encroachment of the British/French consortium. Noted, should be, that under Chulalongkorn, a salaried standing army was formed....by 1890, such locale provincial control was in place from Chiang Mai to Hat Yai and from Ubon to NKP.
