A bit rough still after initial 1897 construction, vacant of additions/splits.

By 1899 - much improvement at the lower road and Maha Chai/Phra Sumen crossings.....continued to be upgraded through Chulalongkorn's passing into the early 20th century [including the Democracy Monument round-about, 1932]

Think something off here. Thaksin was born 1949, and in 1976 would have be about 27, which is possible (from the photo). However, Yingluck was born in 1967, so in 1976 she would have been about 9 years old.....

I believe the young woman in question is Thaksin's future wife [now divorced] and mother of his three children, Potjaman [Damapong] Shinawatra.
