Geeez, PH, I think he didnt mean it to be taken literally rather it was meant to be wry humour. I think you are being a bit harsh on him.

Diggler, good luck for your venture.

    Thanks Sir Wilson.

Ph, what Sir Wilson said. The owner has girls, 4 of which want to stay on and the rest have gone back to Isaan. We may keep them on, if in fact we do go for that certain bar in question, and what they do after they finish work would be entirely up to them. If they'd want to charge a bar fine they would keep it. As for being proud it's not exactly something I'll mention in my monthly phone call to my Mother. This bar (fully furnished) is simply to fund our long term bar in Samui.

Edit: as in to fund the creation of our long term bar in Samui.

Hardly funny . . . but ok. My apologies for going a bit overboard if SW's point is accurate.

Reminds me of the time a mate and i jumped ship in oz. Just on christmas, went berry picking. No food, no money, then a kind lady gave us a tinned christmas pudding.....................no bloody tin opener ! you should have seen the shape of it after a couple of hours of bashing it !

    Odd.
The writer of the thread was quite slim "back in the day" when he penned this.

While you guys are on here ---- can you point me in the right direction please ?
My pal has just been wiped out to the tune of 30 million Baht by his Thai girlfriend ....... mostly through gambling and mafia loans . A story that's boring only because the same thing has happened a million times in Thailand . There must be thousands of similar stories somewhere here in teakdoor but I have spent 2 hours looking and I just cannot find a thread about this . I'm sure it's there ---- and I'm sure you know your way around here better than I do . Can you point me in the right direction ? Please ?

Post it as a new thread - we all like a good laugh. What are you looking for - advice? How he can get it back from the gambling dens and Mafia? Does your "friend" want to be dead by trying that?

No ... not searching for advice. And if I start a new thread I'll get slammed because the story is such a bulk standard story . Been done how many hundred ( thousands ) of times . I want to look at some of those stories . I want to find out if anyone was able to recover anything at all . It's just a question of where are the stories ?
