Well, I'm retired, so I no longer commute to work. But I do commute to the new house twice a day to water the garden. Here's how it looks:
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3811.jpg
This is the house where I live now. Go out the driveway and turn right.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3812.jpg
At the end of the soi, turn right again.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3813.jpg
This moo baan is about 15 or 20 years old and quite low end. Down this soi a few houses is...
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3814.jpg
This little restaurant where we often order take-out food for dinner.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3816.jpg
Keep on going and the road suddenly become unofficial. Get to the end and turn left and you see...
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3817.jpg
This mini-mart where I often buy a beer or four.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3819.jpg
Turn right instead and you get to this road. Turn left and keep on going.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3820.jpg
After about 500 meters you get to this intersection. Turn right over the railroad tracks and you can get on Mittraphap Highway (Thai 2 to Bangkok and Khon Kaen).
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3821.jpg
Turn left instead. The new moo baan is on the far right side of this road.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3822.jpg
People used to fish on this nice pond but the owner put up a "no fishing" sign.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3823.jpg
The pond has beautiful water lilies, but at this time in the afternoon they are closed up.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3824.jpg
This farmer's pond only has water during the wet season. Note the grazing cow in the background.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3825.jpg
A couple hundred meters past the pond and you encounter the entrance to our new moo baan.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3828.jpg
If you continue down the road two hundred meters instead of turning in you get to this mini-mart; the closest one to the new house. They always keep some Singha on ice for me and throw a few ice cubes into the bag when I buy some.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3826.jpg
If you turn into the moo baan make an immediate left until you get to this house. (Lots of plants, no plan.) Turn right.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...1/IMG_3827.jpg
Our new house is the last one on the left. It's about one kilometer from where we live now.
I work from home, I can take pictures from my bedroom to my office if you want, sometimes I stop for a piss on the way.
^Wot he said.
Wot they said ^ ^^
^&^^&^^^ yep.
Didn't go out for smokes today am not likely to see the out side of the house until about 3:00 or 4:00 AM. Tomorrow, the death defying jaunt for smokes in the morn.
Mine would be a bit boring to document pictorially. There's only so many shot's you can take walking downstairs from the bedroom to the study. :)
^^^ and ^^ etc
Wot those other bastards said.
i knew this thread was doomed.
I could hardly think of another poster that actually worked for a living.
yes please.Quote:

I haven't a camera else I would post a picture of the tree lined avenue I stroll along for all of 5 minutes to get to work; it really does look quite beautiful when the trees are in blossom.
I used to commute for at least 2 hours a day - or more when I worked in London - This went on for twenty years or so - Never again - I will always attempt to live within 10 minutes walk of my workplace in the future.
2 hours 5 days a week for 20 "44 week" years = 8,800 hours which is strangely equivalent to a whole year spent commuting. Still, at least it wasn't time wasted....hold on! yes it was....
You should have bought a book to read.Quote:

Go down the road and turn left, then left again
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0581.jpg
There's some kind of warehouse on the left, something to do with builders or other such scum.
Anyway carry on a little bit and we get to our friendly security guard...
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0585.jpg
Looks like he's having his breakfast at the moment.
Now, we should turn right here, but there's a dog...
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0588.jpg
My daughter ain't to happy about it...
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0629.jpg
So we have to carry on and take the next right...
Here we go past Tomato restaurant, I have never seen more than 2 people in this place and it is very rare to see anyone. I think it sells thinks like imported steak and the like. I have never eaten there...
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0595.jpg
There's some nice houses on this road which is adjacent to the lake
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0602.jpg
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0604.jpg
and we met this doggy who was a bit more friendly and most important, behind a gate
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0598.jpg
Next we come past the som am lady....she has shouted "Yang Heng, Yang Heng!" at me twice a day, every day, for the last two years and I still don't know what the fek it means..
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0606.jpg
Another nice house
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0609.jpg
At the end of this road we turn left
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0634.jpg
There is some kind of farmy type place on the left hand side
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0639.jpg
A little bit further and here we are, my place of work
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0643.jpg
They say if I try a little bit harder I could go on the till:rofl:
Next door is the swimming pool
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0644.jpg
and here is a couple of views looking back across the lake at the houses we have just walked past
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0647.jpg
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...0/img_0648.jpg
It normally takes me 4 minutes on my bike, but the walk was about half an hour there and back. There was trouble this morning because I wouldn't stop at the seven to buy an ice-cream!
Here's the google earth view
