Antek Marciniec holds onto a slackline after falling off as he highlines between two cliffs at Diamond Bay on December 21, 2014 in Sydney, Australia. Slacklining is a balance sport in which participants walk on a flat nylon webbing anchored between two points with the tension adjusted to allow for slack, providing an experience similiar to that of walking on a trapmoline. Highlining is a style of slacklining where the two anchor points are set up with significant elevation from the ground or water.

Apparently, the lodge is located at the top of a 1200 ft (400 m) mountain and access is from the bottom: either by zipline or (gulp) climb. But either way the itinerary only schedules an hour or two to get there. Oh, and descent is by zipline or rappel.

That one doesn't give me vertigo. Bobo's Shanghai Tower shot does, big-time. Must be because my mind thinks the dangling legs are mine..

Astronomy Picture of the Day -- Milky Way with Airglow Australis
https://teakdoor.com/images/smilies1/You_Rock_Emoticon.gif
Explanation: After sunset on September 1, an exceptionally intense, reddish airglow flooded this Chilean winter night skyscape. Above a sea of clouds and flanking the celestial Milky Way, the airglow seems to ripple and flow across the northern horizon in atmospheric waves. Originating at an altitude similar to aurorae, the luminous airglow is instead due to chemiluminescence, the production of light through chemical excitation. Commonly captured with a greenish tinge by sensitive digital cameras, this reddish airglow emission is from OH molecules and oxygen atoms at extremely low densities and has often been present in southern hemisphere nights during the last few years. On this night it was visible to the eye, but seen without color. Antares and the central Milky Way lie near the top, with bright star Arcturus at left. Straddling the Milky Way close to the horizon are Vega, Deneb, and Altair, known in northern nights as the stars of the Summer Triangle.

The Daredevils that Scaled Shanghai Tower are Back with an Equally Crazy Climb
When Vadim Makhorov and Vitaliy Raskalov scaled the Shanghai Tower last year (see here and here) the Internet went nuts (the video alone has been viewed over 41 million times).
The notoriety inspired them to attempt an equally crazy climb of the Ping An Finance Centre in Shenzhen, China. When complete it will be the tallest building in China and second tallest building in the world (antenna spire 660 m/2,165 ft; roof 555.1 m/1,821 ft). You can watch the heart stopping video below along with some photos of the daring feat.
