^^ indeed, it sums up everything wrong with this country and the influence the judiciary have had in turning it into a hand wringing state where criminals are protected and authorities are too scared to act for fear of getting hauled in front of judges for doing their job.

you are a disgusting tramp, but as a retired tefler shackbound in northern thailand amongst the bugmunchers and chickenheads that you are cursed with as neighbours it comes as no surprise. you have at least adapted to the local culture.

on the league table of nauseating personal habits it is worse than both picking ones nose and raising a cheek and grinning whilst passing wind.

It is mainly farmers that catch this due to working in the paddy fields and very common during the wet season. The doctor has told me it has been much worse this year due to the heavier than usual May/June rains. There were 10 cases during the week I was admitted and that was a Tuesday evening!

In my case, I am sure it was when I went to the shrine with my grand niece on the Monday evening. I wear walking shoes, not flip-flops and I had to remove them to pray at the shrine. The tiles were wet, many people visit, and there were a lot of dead leaves and other vegetation lying around. Worse, I didn't alcohol my feet as I usually do that night. I have since found out that all you need to do is apply vaseline to any cuts, sores, or cracked feet and that will keep you protected.

If I was ever in that position, I'd kick the vile creep unconscious.
Way back in the late 80's, a friend of mine was walking back from the pub when he saw a couple of kids trying to nick a car. He was a big guy, told them to stop and was shocked when one of them stabbed him in the back while he was telling the other kid to stop. He picked them both up (yes he was that big) and dragged them to the police station. It was there that they found the knife was within a few mm of puncturing his lung.

When he was asked to attend court, he was given no expenses, he was made to look like the perpetrator and not the victim and became very disillusioned with the UK legal system. The kids were found guilty but got off pretty lightly, I can't recall, think it was community service.

The problem is not something recent.

    It is not something new.

Why the absolute fuck do some people not know how loud their speaking voice is. Sitting at a nice eatery in Pattay and a group of four Japanese Sat down at the next table. Three are as quiet as mice, the fourth fucker speaks at a VERY loud volume. Seen it often with Americans and Chinese.

Krung Thai Bank is upgrading their Android App. It will only work on Android 10 or later. My Samsung mobile runs Android 9 and it cannot be upgraded.

Android 9 was discontinued in 2021. If you can't upgrade due to hardware, it might be a good time to upgrade your phone, Looks like you got your moneys worth on that phone.

Call me a dinosaur, but I still don't use my mobile for money transfers, My wife does, but I still prefer cash as I then know how much I am spending.

Had the same problem a couple of years ago best get a new phone. And one that gives you security updates for at least 5 years. I got myself a pixel 8 pro covers me for 10 years and I get monthly updates.

My phone is fine for me in every respect, so far. I'm really unhappy about having to chuck out perfectly good hardware.
Samsung promise 2 software upgrades. What I could not have known when I bought my phone was that there would be 2 updates within about the first year. After that, there is no way to get any update. Some say it can be done with recycled chips but that all seems too hard.

That would be one option for me, keep the phone and stop using the KTB App. Truth is I find it useful, for paying things like utility bills especially.

Use a different bank whose App works on your phone. Transfer in 100K a month or however much you use, from a KTB Bank or ATM and you're sorted governor.

Seems like a lot of work. Got Samed booked for a week that's exhausting enough.

I'll tell that to Edweena. She'll possibly head down the route of international school teacher based in Asia. 3 months off per year fully paid is certainly a perk worth noting.

I still have a Bangkok Bank account, very much my secondary account and I'd rather not switch everything there, although it is an option.
From what I am told, opening a new account at a different bank could be difficult for a farang now. Even my KTB account is still fixed in the town where I lived back in the day. They have told me it is impossible to move the account to my current town and they told me zero chance to open a new account with them here.
