Get well soon KT
I'm back in the UK for a long weekend to celebrate my Dad's birthday. Left home at 3am (2am UK time) to drive down to Munich and managed to get to Cheltenham by 11am. All good so far, took Dad out for lunch with one of his friends, had a good time, dropped him off and booked went to book into the hotel. That's when things went downhill.
NCP car park next to hotel has a failure, entrance not working. Alternate car park a couple of blocks away (NCP again) fails to accept everyone's card. Worse it is one of those reg checking car parks so it knows you went in and out but not you struggling with the silly machine! Hunted around for other car parks but they are all short term. So, hotel but nowhere to park!! Can't even drop off luggage as there are no parking slots near hotel.
So I went back to the long term car park and sod the ticket, trotted off and booked in anyway. Did a bit of shopping and found the car still intact when I returned. Went to first car park and all is now fixed so able to keep it there overnight.
Expecting a 40 quid fine anytime soon...
How I miss the simple life of Thailand...
^ Indeed, and it makes a change from a very cold Bavaria this year. Daffodils look as if they've been out for a while and Tulips in full bloom, makes a change to the first crocus blooms last week at work. However, I have just got word that Bavaria is bathed in sun as well today!
...meanwhile, I brought cold weather clothes because forecast was 2C when I checked at the beginning of the week! That just left me even hotter under the collar this evening...
It was glorious Nev! A little nippy in the morning but not a cloud in the sky. Absolutely wonderful and worthy of a cheer rather than a mian.
However...
That NCP car park was less fun. Yesterday the machunes were all down and advice was to downliad app and pay. All goood for locals, but not for me and an American I met with same problem. Scandalous! Was his thought out loud.
Anyway, we end up finding out you can use credit card on exit and that was working.
Later, return to car park and find man has to issue tickets, but he wasn't counting cars in and out...totally overloaded with cars roaming around. Took 39mins to get a place.
Then got to hotel and fire alarm so not allowed up to room.
It's been fun and games all weekend. O ly goid thing is that my Dad was happy to see me. Had a fantastic pub Sunday lunch at the Old Stop on the Tewksebury road out of Cheltenham. Great place and just up from the farm I worked at 50 years ago.
Yes, a good weekend weather wise, Troy. The birds seemed to be enjoying it too.
I try to avoid car parks that require payment. I'd rather park on the street a bit further away and walk to where I want to go.
Two moans today.
Getting this insufficient storage message all the time when I try to post.
But my big moan is that last year I had about 40 quid on this supermarket loyalty card that I have. This year, despite shopping religiously at the same store, I only have 20.
How does that work then?!?!??!?!?
Expiry dates?
And I dont mean the yellow sticker food that Chitty buys, but expiry dates on yer points.
Short answer...Good!
Long answer...Far more popular than I remember for Sunday Lunch and they have had to extend the car park a fair bit from the old days. Friendly staff and they found us a table despite arriving without a reservation. We were early and they had 1 1/2 hours spare on a table. Dad had a turkey, too much for him, so I had a good share of his plate after my traditional roast beef. Yorkshire pudding was fresh, not frozen, and a pretty fair size..."big as a bloody football" were the words my Dad used. Beef was excellent, as were the roast potatoes.
My only criticism would be that the had no roast parsnip and no peas....
Local Bitter went down perfect with the meal!
A pity the nursery I worked at during my school holidays is now gone.
Since when did a Mr Whippy ice cream cost a fooking fiver?

Went to a clinic for a dodgy knee last week and somehow today that's escalated to an ECG, piss and blood tests. They're ignoring the knee which still hurts by the way.
They probably don't know what the fuck is causing it and want to rely on the science, ecg, piss and blood tests etc no different from anywhere else in the world. It's kinda like taking the car to a mechanic. They may fix it right away for small $ or they may fuck about and take ages for Large? There are good ones and bad ones. In Oz it's fucking difficult just to get an appointment to get a new prescription for example. That's my fucking moan.
Most people are Kunts.dont believe me? Next time you see a group of people. Shout out OI KUNT watch em all turn around.
Senorita rocked up in her new motor tonight. A Toyota Rav 4 brand new from the dealer on the never-never and which will cost 1.5X more than her annual salary by the time she has finished paying it off.
I pleaded with her not to buy this. I even went car hunting and lined her up with some other bargain used SUVs, qualified by my very own pre-purchase inspection. But I was on a hiding to nothing as I could see the little love hearts in her eyes when she was looking at the RAV4 pictures pre-purchase.
Norovirus. Guess that’s what I have picked up. Miserable.
