Not up there with KT's moan, my moan today is Lazada.

To go with my new oven and my ambitions to track down a lump of dead animal to roast I ordered a good quality carving knife. I'm not out to impress anyone, I'm just tired of mediocre knives, it would be nice to have at least one good one.
It's available for immediate shipment. Three weeks ago. Today I am told it is not available in Thailand because it is a 'prohibited item'. They just cancelled my order.
FFS why do they offer stuff they cannot deliver?

Thanks for the well wishes everyone.
Mum is okay out of hospital the person at the care home ha been suspended we are looking to see what if any action can be taken.
Moan time we were planning on flying back to Bangkok but will wait until it stops raining in Thailand ,its still warm and sunny in Sussex .
Just jesting waiting to see that Mum is okay and moaning about being in a care home the truth is my Dad just cant cope with her demands.

    ^Glad that she recovered.

^^ IKEA is good for kitchenware. Their 365 knives are fine.

    Thanks.
I'm not out of pocket, it was c.o.d., but I did pass up a chance to buy a set on special offer at Villa when I was in Udon Thani. They looked adequate. No rush, there are no joints in Makro at the moment.

VARDAGEN Vegetable knife, dark grey, 16 cm - IKEA
Interestingly Ikea do not currently offer a carving knife. They have various kitchen knives and a decent looking bread knife, but no carving knife or fork. I guess Thailand has limited demand.
Looked online at Central, nothing there.
Went back to Lazada and where there had been a number of choices a month ago I could find none at all now. The "I" here being the gf, the same gf who found them all a month ago. Shoppee too.
Amazon has a well-reviewed knife, Messermeister Avanta Pakkawood, which they say ships to Thailand, fifty bucks plus another thirty something for shipping. So can they actually ship it?
It's no big deal, it isn't something I have needed for several years and I'll make do with what I have.

Very nice. My fund manager will need to do something special before I have a spare 20K for something I'd use only occasionally. Maybe one day.

I have knives, I just had a whim to get a proper carving knife and fork, the fork is important too.
Getting back on topic, my real moan was these companies on Lazada and elsewhere that claim to have items in stock and ready for delivery, only to tell you weeks later that was not the case and cancel your order.

^ It's on my list of things to buy when I'm back in Germany.

My moan for the week is that I brought over my backup laptop and found I can't process raw images as I'd like. I'm running Windows in a virtual machine and don't have the memory to run Nikon NX. I'll have to wait until I get back at the week-end.
